Yesterday there was an interesting show on CNN , Racism in America

Just wanted to know the quick reaction of Nepalese people - do u guys hate African American ? Why or why not ?

I hate most of them,, coz they are lazy ass, and kill people, blks don't respect other color.

it may be so with some blacks but again it not good to judge entire blacks with such sterotype notion. I have some black coworkers who work hard and respect other employees, and are helpful. This kind of discussion just generate the age old hatred.

black, green, blue, white doesnt matter ... people r people all around the world...

those african american population who hate other race and kill others are usually thugs and illiterate ones and its not just in black population, its in white, brown, nepali population where illiterate ones hate other race. so please do not generalize this just for black population. I went to school here, and I have more black friends than I have friends from other race. its been almost 2 yrs after graduation and we still talk, help and keep in touch with each other. I have been appreciated more from my black friends than my nepali friends. I have been conned by Nepali population more and I don't recall any incidents of such involving black person. I have been in the ghettos from Maryland Baltimore area, silver springs, Los angeles, Minneapolis, New Orleans and I am still alive, never been robbed not even in gun point or knife point, once you enter their lives, they are the most helping and kind person not like redneck white ppl who are more like "mukh ma ram ram bagli maa chhura".

Why is this wrong? If we Nepalis are so proud and brag about our Bir Gorkhalis who never lost a war and our coutry iself for never colonized, even today (after 200+ years). This sense of pride is internalized inside each Nepalis when we look to see who we really are as a people. Just like no one can take away this sense of pride from us, don't you think if our people had gone through the horror and barbarism Africans did during the time of slavery, it would just as much part of our identity as were the Bir Gorkhalis.

I'm sure you mean to say we need to move on and not get stuck in the past but I think there are certain things / events of our past that are beyond our reach to ease and erase.

Anyways just some food for thoughts....

P.S. "hate" is a very heavy word so i hope no one will have to live with it.
