Hello everyone,
I have decided to start a shoutcast radio. You all can help me out with nepali songs. I have a bunch, but if you are willing to send more songs, or all of your nepali songs, please zip the file so you don't have to attach one by one and send the zip file to nep.shoutcast@gmail.com
I would appreciate it if you contribute songs, nepali, 1 or 2 or hundreds. i don't care. and if possible with artist names and song name. You will be able to listen to Shoutcast radio either through shoutcast.com, winamp or VLC media player.

Shoutcast will begin from May 1st. So i need to get as much songs as possible. Oldies, Modern, Pop, Folk, Dohori... ani ke ke!

I haven't had time to put up all the songs i have on my computer. It's a lot. And to type it up, while looking at the song is some tedious job. But it seems like no one is willing to help out.
Jules, its okay, if you don't have any songs, at least you replied. but seems like i might as well start with few songs that i have. Its coming quickly, and i still have to compile the songs in categorial order.
Oldies, Pop, modern, and all that, i will not put up rap songs. they're limited and not very good, and no one i know likes to listen to those crap!

redstone.. i was goign to do that myself.. but you are doing it so, it is nice to know, and i don't have to do that now. phew! i have a few rm files that i downloaded. did you only want mp3s ? i don't have time to convert now, but may be later. you can also download many many nepali songs at

there is a trick to do so though, becuse the files are hidden in the playlists. however, they are all rms , but you can easily convert it to mp3. they are okay quality, well radio quality so, i think it is okay for the shoutcast broadcast, and of course can save a lot on bandwidth using smaller files. if u want more conversation you can email me directly sujanks@gmail.com

Thanks dude, RM files are fine, because they are smaller in size, could be easier for server. I am not requesting just MP3s, WMA is fine too, or any other kind. If .RM files sound too bad, i probably will convert them into mp3s. had a hard time listenin to RM files one time. even though murchunga and gorkhali use rm files, maybe i could use them too.

if you want to work together for this, its cool too. you can help me build a site! i don't feel like doin it! :P:P

Hey Redstone, brilliant thought. Good to know you have taken initiative. I do have atlest 300 songs, most of them good quality, some so so. I will have to dig in my hard disks and cds. I will upload it in the web so that your mailbox is not jammed. Gimme some time. I am impressed..

you can use my web server for ftp/http purpose while doing this.. or i have some gmails to spare to email each other the media. i have a web server that can have upto 1Gb storage and 12gb band. let me know if you want to use it, and if that helps. if you have a domain in mind, may be you can buy one. i have a domain inepal.org doing nothing and being hosted by microsoft for free under the new office live deal. i would be happy to use that.. i like shoutcast.. let's do this.. my comcast internet is just not fast enough to broadcast.. may be you have a better one, i can make my machine a secondary shoutcast server just in case yours have too many bandwidth or is down.

Bhaute Kaji, it did work. i downloaded the file from my friend's house and now i have all the songs.
Lemony, I thank you for the songs as well. finally you learned how to zip files :P hehehe

anyways, i am still collecting songs, and putting them in playlists. not broadcasting yet. because of my school work, im thinking of pushing the date little further. maybe, not to get distracted i think i will do this after my finals, which ends after mid week of May.

well, congratulations, the test phase was complete today! :)
now, i need the following to make sure i provide dedicated service.
1. Router(NEW, that does not conflict with my modem's IP, biggest problem)
2. A new box, gettin it within this week from my friend
3. Probably a new static IP, not sure if i want to pay for it
4. More SONGS! please! :P

after im done with the errors and external ip vs internals fight, i will put up a link for test phase. till then, hold tight!
