यस वर्ष हुनलागेको विश्वकप २००६ मा ३२ राष्ट्रहरु छनौटमा परेका छन्। ति सबै राष्ट्रहरुलाई विभिन्न ८ समूहमा विभाजन गरिएको छ,र प्रत्येक समूहमा ४ राष्ट्रहरु छन्।

प्रथम चरणका खेलहरु लिगको आधारमा खेलाइने छ र अंकको आधारमा २ सर्वोकृष्ट राष्ट्रहरु दोश्रो चरण(Round of16) मा प्रवेश गर्ने छन् भने वाँकि २ राष्ट्रहरु विश्वकपबाट वाहिरिनेछन्।
प्रथम चरणका खेलाइने खेलहरुको मिति,स्थान तथा राष्ट्रहरुको नामावली आयोजकहरुले प्रकाशित गरिसकेका छन्।

दोश्रो चरण(Round of 16) अनि त्यस पछिका म्याचहरु(quarter finals,semi finals and finals) को मिति र स्थानको मात्र घोषणा भएको छ तर राष्ट्रहरुको नाम हामीलाई थाहा छैन।
कुन समूहबाट कुन राष्ट्रबाट वाहिरिने हो र कुन अर्को चरणमा पुग्ने हो,यसको अनुमान गर्न निकै कठिन छ।
मैले विश्वकपमा सहभागी प्राय सबै प्रमुख राष्ट्रहरुको खेलहरु विगत ४ वर्ष देखि नियमित रुपमा केहि प्रत्यक्ष र वाँकि टेलिभिजनमा हेर्दै
आएको छू.मैले हेरेका खेलहरु(Euro cup qualifying 2004,Euro cup Portugal 2004,FIFA Confederations Cup Germany 2005,fifa world cup qualifying2006 and friendly matches)को आधारमा, यस प्रतियोगितामा सहभागी टिमहरुको खेलको स्तर,खेलाडिहरुको क्षमता र टिमहरुको रणनितिको आधारमा मैले अनुमानित म्याचहरुको तालिका तयार पारेको छु जुन यसप्ररकारको छ.यसमा स्थान,
मिति र राष्ट्रहरुको नाम सवै उल्लेख छ.

anonymous जी,Australia has improved it's game since it has appointed to the Deutch couch HIDDINK Guus. But the game standard of Australia is not enough to go further in the round of 16. In the group of Australia there is Japan, Brazil and Croatia. Brazil's team is strongest in this group and Japan will come in the second place because it has proved it's skill and had shown a brilliant game strategy during the Fifa confideration cup 2005 ,which was held in Germany last year. so croatia and australia will just fight for the 3rd place in this group.

It's been a while since I am excited about the "real" football. Good job norge.

Brazil vs Chz Republic might be one tough match-up. Chz is ranked 3rd in Fifa while USA is ranked 9th. I guess since the rankings are based upon the kind of matches these countries play, I am not surprised to see USA in top 10..but they are certainly getting better with many of their player playing in Europe.

It should be fun this year. I will be supporting USA for the first time.
