Suspect arrested in store clerk's slaying By NATHANIEL JONESStar-Telegram Staff Writer Arlington police have arrested one suspect in connection with Tuesday’s killing of a store clerk during an attempted robbery and charged him with capital murder. Jared Birmingham, 21, was escorted out of a north Arlington apartment about noon Friday. Birmingham limped out of the second-floor apartment in the 2500 block of Country Ridge Lane. Police say they believe he injured his left foot in the robbery. Shekhar Regmi, 20, of Irving, a Nepalese immigrant, was shot once in the back of the head late Tuesday by one of two masked men who held up the Fina Mart at 2005 E. Copeland Road near Six Flags Over Texas, police said. A warrant has been issued for two other suspects — a second man in the store and a third who apparently drove the getaway car, Detective Kyle Dishko said Friday. Birmingham was the taller suspect in video images shown on the Star-Telegram online edition this week, police said. Investigators say they believe he fired the fatal shot. Regmi worked part-time at the store. He was studying engineering at North Lake College. About 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, two men — one about 5-feet-8, and the other about 6 feet — walked into the store as Regmi was stocking in a back room and a second clerk was sitting below the counter. As soon as the men entered the store, the other clerk went to the rear of the store and hid in a cooler, police have said. For an unknown reason, the taller man shot Regmi, Dishko said. Both suspects ran from the store. Police say they believe that no cash was taken. The suspect who drove the getaway car contacted police after bad feelings about the incident, Dishko said. Bond for Birmingham has been set at $250,000. Link to web: http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/news/local/13474021.htm

So far he is just the suspect, But if he is the killer than he deserve more bond than only 250,000 or may be even life in jail or death.

So no cash was taken....that means the motive for killing was something else....was the victim a member of rival gang in a gangsta war ?

There are 6 billion (human) lives in this planet. Loss of one is like taking just a bucket of water out of an ocean.

Khaobadi, there's a level of insanity, I am sure you wont act the same when(God forbid) your brother was in the same situation, can you show some respect to the one who died and to his family. If you dont feel what others feel please just leave.... even enemies give time to mourn.

Look there is no insanity on my part no matter what you guys say.....I'm simply including this (gansta warfare) as ONE OF THE POSSIBLE reasons for this guy to get shot and get killed. The thing in this case is that..the black dudes are said to have come to the store, TOOK NO CASH, spared another clerk and went straight to kill this guy (by shooting in his head). To me it looks like these black dudes were looking for a very specific person to shoot and kill. It looks so much like a revengeful act to me and I cannot rule out gangter rivalery.

unknown dude Approximately over 11,000 gun related deaths happen in the US each year...My job is NOT to mourn for each their families here. You can do that if you are interested. All I do here is simply try to construct the possible reason for some of the deaths that I'm interested in.

"So no cash was taken....that means the motive for killing was something else....was the victim a member of rival gang in a gangsta war ?" "There are 6 billion (human) lives in this planet. Loss of one is like taking just a bucket of water out of an ocean." "It is not strange that gangstars die in gangsta warfare." ----- Khaobaadi, I do not know what is the point you want to make, but it certainly is not appropriate for you to thump your considerable insensitive messages in here. Did you happen to read the news of the links provided here? Forget the news; did you happen to read the information of why it happened, how it happened and who was the victim? Those were posted by the people who knew the victim, his roommates and such. You post one statement and then post another and make your own assumption fully aware that those victims' dear ones are reading it. If you can not say something appropriate, refrain from making your own assumption and making it harder for others who are directly affected by this gruesome act by some criminals. If you are interested in this death, here you are, read this: http://sajha.com/sajha/html/openthread.cfm?forum=2&ThreadID=26091&show=all There are thousands of Shekhar working as hard and suffering as hard, and you simply paint them as a gangsta? Perhaps if you happen to be in front of any one of those, for whom it matters, and make these asumptions, you probably would understand what violence means. For now, just take caution.

Its a relief that a suspect has been apprehended, yhough the life is gone and it would not lessen the pain of his family. Does the state in which this happen have death penalty as punishment? I hope so would want to see the culprit - whoever that is - executed. Not by injection but by hanging. And khaobadi, it seems that you are obsessed with hood and gangsta! (excuse my spelling there). Are you a wannabe gangsta or what dude? Or have you been listening to too much of eminem? You remind me of -- well lets forget that, this is no time to waste arguing. What I want to say is have some sense of respect for the dead and his family before you start throwing in your own speculations.
