Divyaj gets out from the meeting with his colleagues and superiors. Aimee, his colleague is back after her maternity leave. The conference room on the far left corner E11 is buzzing with boisterous laughter and inevitably the talk revolves around -- what else, babies.

As Divjay somehow manages to sleep thru the meeting, and with a stack of to-do list, a few "touch base" short conversations, and back he is at his desk. The past weekend has been crazy. Nine hours of sleep in three days, late nights and lots of scrumptious liquor and continuous doses of nicotine from the smoldering joy stick have been the highlight of his weekend.

How he could have used one more off day. No not "off", but "OFF", - know what I mean? Weird how an exact word can be interpreted with completely differing and different meanings; words they are, no matter how we manipulate em', one slip and the entire context changes. He wonders if only 'life' was just another word. Hey, it is - is not it? He does not even dwell on that one now, words are complicated enough.

Anyways! He has had many "off" days, but what he was looking for was an "OFF" day. He knows he is complicating things with this "off -- OFF" bit within himself, but you have no idea the quagmire he is facing. Actually he is enjoying this weirdness.

It's not that he did not try, but somehow today he had to meet one tiny deadline which was big enough to cancel his planned siesta. He sighs, "Oh well!" He realizes one hour of sleep for a long day at work and then some more was not a wise thing to do. He jumps off and takes the elevator to outside lobby to inhale for some much needed dose of nicotine.

As he comes out with a large coffee, and tries to light a cigarette, he could not help but smile. As he looks up to the 32nd floor, he wonders if they would even recognize him. Even weirdly enough, he waves his hand, just so/because, you know. Yes, it has been this peculiar.

Oh what a weekend!

devayaj stands with strong personality,confident on himself. offcourse devyaj is cute, and very successfull, poised, articulate - he was a top exec at that company, he was adorable. he has been at this job for about 3 years, and everyone was preety satiesfied with his work except for few days after his weekend.boss was saying on how this is her first job and how she needs to learn how to use the register since this is what she chose to do, so boss asked devyaj if he could help her learn it..devyaj agreed with decent manner"sure mam!its my pleasure!"

A smile can lighten up someone's day. Divjay had heard about it somewhere. It was not exactly that, but it certainly was refreshing. Jaded as he was, he gave her as pleasant a smile as he could.

As they 'tack' themselves to their respective cubicles, he realizes, her cubicle is right off his, only slightly on his left. He vaguely remembered that he was supposed to have an intern, and it was mentioned to him couple of months prior.

He knew very well how apprehensive one can feel on the first day, thus decided to take things slow. After showing her around a little bit, he worked on to create an access account to the system. He explained the usual knick knacks about the work and by the time they were done with, it was time for lunch.

In an impromptu jiffy, he asked, "want to go for lunch?"
Sonali looked up at him, raised eyebrows, but face numb. May be a hint of a smile. No, oh yeah, may be. Oh well! Maybe not after all.

Suddenly, he realized, perhaps it was not an appropriate gesture, considering they have just met. To put things in perspective, he said, "Well! It's time for lunch, and I presume you do not know the way around here, maybe I can show you the caf?, and other places where you can grab some lunch." He convinced himself that it was professional enough.

Sonali appeared smart and obviously attractive. On black suit, white shirt and polished heels, she looked every bit of a today's go-getter career woman. Her thin light make up was not only enhancing her beauty, but was also stating she is taking every care not to overstate, which Divjay found rather impressive. How often do they overdo that?

At times she used her fingers to toss her hair behind, and her fine thin bracelet perfectly complimenting her glowing skin of her tender wrist, was further stating that she had class.

Give her a black coat could be a lawyer, a white robe - she could be a doctor. :p.
Yes, indeed, she appeared every bit a today's woman.

Divjay was a keen observer of things, but it is weird how he felt awkward now.

Sonali appeared calm, and then there was a moment of silence, further making complicating this otherwise simple moment.

Have you ever noticed how an odd silence can make the world of meaning between two people? And yet the same silence can be a predicament, strong enough to clutch ones heart.

Anyways . . .

They say, silence speaks louder than words, but this silence was neither even stating yes, nor no. All this complication for asking for a mundane lunch?
Is there nothing simple in this world, he wonders.

What might have been few seconds, but was oddly long enough to go thru all this.

"So," he asked, and further stated, "See, I am hungry and .."

Saloni opens her mouth as if to make a reply,but then she shuts it quickly as she thinks. for a moment seeming to be unsure of just what to do at this point ,she got on her feet and smile in agreeable manner.smiling is all is do most of the time when she have no idea how to response.
on other hand devyaj perfect in reading smiles moves forward towards the door.
saloni's eye look carefully forward without looking at devyaj ,this was her first day at office and she was flooded with a multitude of emotions: excitement...anxiety...fear...anticipation...redness.cafeteria was down the floor.
they step on excalator to move downward ,saloni was bit ahead.when she realized it,she stepped back with him.they entered the cafeteria through the side door.hush fell over the crowd of people as they made their way.
saloni doesn't raise her eyes as she doesn't want devyaj to see the nervousness that she felt at her first day at office.both of them sit in cafeteria.devyaj could see the pressure she was feeling ...so he broke up the silence ,"nervous?"
saloni looked at devyaj,well her eyes were book themself..devyag
could read her fear in her eyes, excitement in its glow. she answered "bit!".
he knew it ,he replied "happens! since its first day at office. "The slightly doubtful
eyebrow remains raised, and a small smile slides across saloni's lips .


as they order some lunch devyaj saw one of his fren and called
her over to the table. "mary !i would like u to meet someone.this is saloni.mary''.

mary was attractive gal around her mid tweenties,smart she looked ,outgoing she sound.

"its nice to meet u ,mary''.

mary was gal working on same building but in different floor.
mary sits on table and coversation starts .saloni was kind of happy to meet marry.
it was good to know someone besides senior"boss''.as conversation continues slowly saloni loosens the knot of tension felt in her stomach.
conversation between three made more easy to break the ice!.
she was quiet and shy most of the time ,for she, she did not know what to say .
eventhough she didn't talk much but it was kind of comfy to listen their experience
and relate it to herself. when they were talking devyaj was kind of host,
however for though he continued the conversation every few minute he would
watch saloni to see if she was comfortable .this made saloni good to be with him.

lunch was over,mary stands on her feet and says
hmm "it was nice talking to u saloni,ohh ya u too devyaj,see ya two around,got to run now."

saloni and devyaj watched mary leave.they turned and started for excalator...

The rise in escalater was lesser tha the rise in the emotions that day. The feelings of new office and yeah the new friend was rumbling around Saloni's mind. The comfort and care Divyaj has shown was bit different. Divyaj had cared so much as if they were frens from ages. She just wondered, and let the thought wander around the Milky way, there was too much works to be finished and too much works to be learned that day.
"Thinking something??" Divyaj interrupetd her thoughts.
"No!!" Saloni was surprised on how Divyaj has noticed.
"Ok!!" Divyaj was trying his best to make her comfortable.
They have reached their cubicles by now and yeah once again "tacked in their cubilces".:D
The day had passed as if an hour, Divyaj has teached her the most of the stuffs and in most passionate way. It seemed as if Divyaj loved his work as much as he loved himself. She had never been interested as "student" before today. She had never felt so much comfort with any "teacher" before.
The sun was to set into the thin horizon of the sea, And there was a new horizon rising in 2 lives.
