Every once in a while, certain circumstances arises that makes one really happy. Its been quite sometime since i last felt really reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy HAPPY. I was just wondering, if its just me or there are others like in this situation. You know when you feel really satisfied, at peace and you just can not help but scream and shout " YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS". I know small things makes one happy, but i am talking about those small/big things that made you REALLY HAPPY. Mind sharing those moments? Perhaps it would help me and many others to just cheer up a lil bit. Generally a happy guy, IndisGuise:)

Last week: My car was hit by an SUV driven by a 16 year old; it flipped over 3 times until it landed on the roof with the wheels spinning. I was pulled out through the window! I walked out of the carcrash... alive, unhurt, unbroken and with my sense of humor intact! Although, I really thought I was dead. Anyways, when the police asked what kind of an errand I was doing at 8 AM in the morning on a Sunday, I answered in all sincerity: "I was going to Yoga class.... HELLO!!!!!!! to keep healthy you know!" Even the police and the ambulance crew laughed. Anyways: I am grateful and happy for receiving so much from friends, family and the UNIVERSE. PS. Thanks for taking out this thread! :)

Rein, I can understand what you are saying. I have been thru something similar. I might share it here in sajha perhaps from work mrow, if i have chance ... Sitara, am glad that you came out unharmed. No matter how careful we are from our part, we just can not be careful enough from something like that, esp. if it includes some 16 yr old thinking he is formula 1 champ. I hope to hear more from you guys. God bless you. IndisGuise:)

When i was in 1st grade, I had written a nepali poem called "ama", and had sumitted to be published in skool's yearbook.(it was my first " thing" ever to be published ) and After several months, when we recevied our skool's yearbook , my mom, sitting on her sofa, started flipping pages of the year book. Then after flipping and reading numerous pages, she saw my poem and started reading it. when she was at the last word of my poem i cud see her eyes filled with tears . she looked at me afterwards (i was sitting right by her) and smiled and kissed me on my cheeks and said, "ta gadha lai ni yesto ramro lekha auucha". I had never ever thought that mom's watery eyes wud bring me so much happiness. Till now, thats been the happiest day of my life.! and mom i love u :)

I don't think, I know for a fact that mine was when we received a letter from a now released prisoner of conscience. I am a member of Amnesty and we write letters to government of different countries asking them to release prisoners we feel have been put in jail for fighting for freedom/rights/equality. So we had written a letter to this one government (name undisclosed) and after 3 months we got a letter from a just freed prisoner, saying "The only reason I was freed was because of those letters." Our task was finally rewarded, I just felt sooooooooo good that day, so far that's my happiest moment.

indisguise, this is a great topic! thanks for starting it. sitara, it is nice to hear that you walked away from such an insane accident in the condition that you did. i was in a similar accident back in 97, in that the car rolld over onto the roof and i had to crawl out through the window. the people who had stopped were freaking out and they were all anxious, asking me if i was okay and everything. i said i was fine and when i looked down, there was a tiny cut on my pinky finger from the shattered glass. and that was all.... rein, i too understand the feeling of complete joy and relief to know that your mom has had a successful operation and that she will be healthy again. as indisguise pointed out, there are HUGE happinesses and small happinesses. my last moment of complete happiness came last week. i decided to sponsor the education of a young nepali girl through a non-profit called educate the children. now that my peace corps days are over, it is hard to feel like i am making a difference. but when i decided to help provide better educational opportunities for my new bahini, my heart felt good. and i know what i am doing for her and her family will help them and will make a difference. there are few joys greater than the one of giving to others.

My Happiest moment has to be when I saw my boyfriend for the first time. I was waiting for him at the airport with my cousin and my best friend. I had never seen him in person before so I was excited and nervous at a same time. I didn't know what to do, I just wanted to run around screaming. Then all of a sudden my friend (baller) came walking towards me and then right behind him was my boyfriend with a big smile on his face. I ran up to him and hugged him. If I could have one things in the world then I would ask god to let me live that moment again. It still brings a smile on my face when I think about it. Awwwwwwwwwwwwww Peace Out................

Real heart touching stories . So many of us have contributed to this world in one way or another. Millions of us living all aorund the world, give so much of our selfish needs just to be a better person and live in this world, to see it prosper and gloom, but still even after that, our world is never at peace. There is war, there is hatred and there is discrimination. Then again at last, I realize and say to myself, we are human, and for us there is no perfect happiness that is free of selfishness, greed, jelousy and anger. for many years i have wondered what is happiness..i have bought and done great things to satisfy myself, from spending big bucks to spending nothing, having great relationships to having the worst one possible, all that just to satisfy myself and my needs, but in reality i never felt satisfied, there was something lacking on my satisfaction. even though everthing that i had done and bought for myself was from my own hard work and hard earned money. Everyday, i use to wonder why am i not happy, even though i am me, and have "not everything" but have most of the things that i have always desired. well, but in these recent months, i have realized happiness. Someone had said it true, "happiness is giving". You get so much happiness, by just giving and doing the right things to profit others, Doenst matter if its just pouring some water in a plant thats in ur garden, sponsoring a child like Palpali gaule, fighitng for a cause like meera, or just seeing your mom smile. So people start giving to the world and to the universe u will obiviously not get a perfect happiness bundle but i assure u there is a free garaunteed internal satisfaction :) and yes, at last, always smile :)

Dhhait Confused bro, .........and starting a thread like this khai bhaneko? haha.. Anyway, Rekha, was your one of those classic online romance? hehehe.. la badai cha. the beauty, importance and relavance of moments like those are they are rare. That moment, that time would never come as it did. Yeah it could , if you actually go for another guy online and then he comes to meet ya for the first tyam :p, just a sugestion, doesn't mean u got to pay heed to it :), or perhaps when u see him afta five yrs. Hmmmmmmm does it sound interesting? Would u take it? I mean the moment you were talking about. Hehe.. "NO" I thought so. Anyway, I would just like to add on what confused said, and palpali gaunle is enacting. " true happiness definately comes from "giving" , but if you are looking for small happines, then do not hsitate to take." Just a thought, IndisGuise:)

great post, confused. i think the key to being happy is to live simply and to limit your desires. i guess that's a pretty buddhist school of thought, but it makes sense. desire is the root of all suffering is what they preach. now, i'm not saying to not desire anything- i mean, everyone has desires and needs, but the important thing to learn is to minimize them and to really understand the difference between want and need. i really think true happiness comes only from helping and giving to others and from human connections. i mean, yeah, i'm happy when i buy a new cd (especially if it's a good one!) or something like that, but that is not a profound happiness. no happiness can compare to the one felt as a result of loving another person. la.....
