You need to have more concrete information like a video of victim or some kind of proof before allegations such as yours will be taken seriously because let’s face it you are using an anonymous name to post. 

I totally understand the concern; however, these things happen inside the court, where videotaping is not permitted (neither do I want to videotape anyone in such an emotional situation). Plus, I do not know these people outside of the court. As I have written, I wouldn't have made this post in the first place, but I have seen it again and again with this particular lawyer. I am particularly touched by what happened in the court today. My intention is just to let people know about what might happen if you have a bad lawyer and what you can do to hold the person accountable. Main advice: don't ever pay lawyer full before the case is done. Pay him/her in installment with the last installment after (I repeat, AFTER) the court date.

Always have contract laid out...i was screwed by Cheetri law firm of NY. While attorneys were all competent and good, the support staff are the worst with nepali mentatlity. Unless you are bribing them, they do not work / delay your work/ ignore you or even shout at you , even though you have paid all amount in the laid out contract. I lost my case due to their incompetency and lack of epathy for client.

You hire law firm so that they can do all paper work on your behalf. In this law firm, you have to sit with them to anyhing done while you take day off from the work. Since lawyers do not work on your case all the time and its the supporting staff that organize everything, i do not recommend cheetry law firm as well.

Spend some extra money and hire a good authentic American lawyer. Nepali lawyers are only concerned about making money and they do not have adequate knowledge compare with others...

People who just came from nepal per example case above will never go to american lawyer or will have limited knowledge. Plus they will have no communication barrier and comfort level with nepali lawyer. Seems like *** nepal might be screwing those with limited US law.

Even a guy like me who has been here for 7 years got screwed by law office, i am not amazed if those newcomers get screwed . But complaining to BAR is the best way forward to these f--ktards.

@Wonton: regarding posting on Yelp, I am not sure if the lawyer has yelp page. Next, even if he does, I do not think a good number of Nepali people visit Yelp before hiring a lawyer. So, posting here might get a wider audience than posting on Yelp or Nolo.

@terobaau: I agree with your sentiment that sometimes office staff members are bad. What bothers me most is when a judge asks something and lawyer blame it on the office staff in a hearing. "Common that's your internal problem. If your staff is bad, fire them. You are not a baby to play a blame game inside the court. Own up to your mistake (after all that is your staff) and take responsibility." The poor guy hired you for a good amount of money, so do your part sincerely.

@Gmajor: irony is, Nepali lawyers are often expensive than American lawyers. Also, American lawyers are not necessarily better than Nepali, at least in Immigration case (they are better in almost all other sections, like criminal, personal injury).

I don’t know details, nor do it know anyone directly here. I haven’t even used any Nepali lawyer in US yet. But I know it is common practice among immigrant to screwup new immigrant to make money. Indians , Nepali , Mexicans all are in same boat. So I will trust OP but not ynepal dude and stay from them if I ever have to use lawyer in future .

Contact ynepal directly so that they can perhaps sue you for defamation?...nice try.

I met this dude few years ago when he had an office in Berkley. Very unprofessional, greedy and typical nepali stereotype. Glad that I didn't work with him.
