पृथ्वीनारायणलाई ‘युद्धअपराधी’ घोषणा गरियोस्: आङकाजी

 

२७ पुस, काठमाडौं । बेलाबखत उग्र अभिव्यक्ति दिएर विवादमा आउने गरेका संघीय समाजवादी पार्टीका नेता आङकाजी शेर्पाले पृथ्वीनारायण शाहलाई युद्ध अपराधी घोषणा गर्न माग गरेका छन् । सिंहदरबार अगाडि रहेको पृथ्वीनारायणको सालिगसमेत तत्काल हटाउन शेर्पाले माग गरेका छन् ।

दुई सय ९१ औं पृथ्वी यजन्तीकै दिनपारेर शेर्पाले आफ्नो फेसबुक स्टाटसमा लेखेका छन्-’१७ धार्नी आदिवासी जनजाति नेवारको नाक काट्ने पृथ्वीनारायण शाहलाई युद्ध अपराधी घोषणा गरियोस् ।’

जिम्मेवार पार्टीका नेतासमेत रहेका शेर्पाले लेखेका छन्-’शासक जाति र वर्गले लेखेको ईतिहासमा उत्पीडित र उपेक्षीतहरु कथा व्यथा लेखेको हुँदैन भनेको सुनेको थिएँ । पृथ्वीनारायण शाहको गुणगान गाउने नेपालको ईतिहासले काठमाडौ उपत्याकामा १७ धार्नी आदिवासी नेवारहरुको नाक काटेको बारे किन बोल्दैन ?’

साम्प्रदायिक अभिव्यक्ति दिएको भन्दै नेकपा एमालेबाट निष्काशनमा परेका आङकाजीले पृथ्वीनारायणलाई गाली गर्दै भनेका छन्- ‘आदिवासी जनजाति नेवारको १७ धार्नी नाक काटेर गर्व गर्ने पृथ्वीनारायण शाहलाई मरोपरान्त युद्धअपराधी घोषणा गरिनुपर्छ ।’

त्यसैगरी सिंहदरबार अगाडि रहेको शाहको सालिक तत्काल हटाएर शंखधर चक्र -साख्वा ?) को सालिक राख्न शेर्पाले माग गरेका छन् । ‘सिहंदरवारको अगाडि युद्धअपराधी पृथ्वीनारायण शाहको शालिक तत्काल हटाएर शंखधर चक्रको शालिक राखियोस् ।’ शेर्पाको थप माग छ, ‘पृथ्वीनारायण शाहको गुणगान मात्र वर्णन गरिएको नेपालको इतिहास तत्काल सच्चाइयोस् ।’ काजीले स्टाटसको अन्त्यमा लेखेका छन्- ‘विश्लेषण: आङ काजी शेर्पा किसान’

Although I haven't supported few other outbursts by Ang Kaji, I understand the sentiment regarding Prithvi Narayan Shah. Everyone knows history is written by the winner no matter how the victory was achieved.

What PNS did was cruel, inhumane and torturous. Inflicting such pain on innocent people. It just shows what kind of person he was. In a present day context, imagine Obama cutting off noses of Libyan people after victory. Or George Bush cutting off noses of Iraqis after his victory.

Ang Kaji....our own Alex Jones...how credible is this guy? Like Alex Jones he says just about anything for $$$$$$.

Its agreed what PNS did to Newar civilians was pretty bad, if it was done to the civilians. It if was done to Malla Army then may be it was just " all fair in war" kind of a deal. I do agree that history should recognize the fact of his bad deed but we do not need this SHERPA from the mountain...who is happy to carry Khaire's bag for the good $$$ advocating for the Newars. Let some Newar make this statement and listened to....not this racist jerk who wants to cash $$$ on Newar's pain.

George Washington owned slaves. He may or may not have whipped the slaves, may or may not have raped them and abused them but he is still the father of the Nation of USA. Sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture.

SAP dude, even crazy people can be right sometimes and in this case Ang Kaji is right.

As for slaves, they were handed down over generations to George Washington's time so he inherited the slaves, while cutting nose of innocent people was not handed down to PNS, it was his great idea. There is no bigger picture than to admit PNS was one sick (bastard) ruler.

can anyone give me a reliable source that PN shah cut off noses of the kirtipure except the notes written by some english general/jesuit priest after 30-40 years of PN shahs death ?would be very kind of you.thanx

I agree with siva linga's comment. I have also read on some articles that rumor of cruelty was spreaded by some priest because they couldnt do what they did to chinq and other asian country in the name of religion. Fact was PN shah cut nose of few war criminals who killed kalu pandey inhumanly. It wasnt done to all the kritipur residents.

So does it mean all of you deny that what pn shah did was wrong?

I can't deny it out right because they say there is no smoke without a fire. Can agree either because of less evident. Anything an angry christian priest says cant be credible.

Beside that, this Ang Kaji...an ex Mao...always saying things and doing things for his sponsored $$$ is not credible. Now, if this was brought up by some Newar leader, i would have given him the benefit of the doubt and sympathized with him but not for this azzhole. May be the SHERPAS were not abused by PNS and he had to use Newa cause to make new $$$ on.

 It is no doubt Ang Kaji is merely trying to inflame the communities he's done in the past to score some political points. Nothing new in that!

The notion of PNS cutting noses of residents is not far fetched. We deem the journal of a priest not credible, yet most history we know is through the history taught in our schools --most of which were merely trumpeting the shah rulers and distorted in their favor. But even within that trumpeting there were quite a few glaring examples of the "mad rage" of PNS. For e.g. executing a guard who had nonchalantly forgotten to salute him. If one were to do more research, i think his offsprings will be found to be much more violent.

Rethink and BC, 
I understand that we get nothing out of mere discussion, but isn't it our responsibility to set the history straight. While I commend PNS for uniting Nepal and have a deep respect for him, it would be premature to dismiss all his ill-doings. It is hard to gauze the history of our nation, where many important facets, have been deleted off only to be revived through independent researchers.

Dont forget.....without PNS there would have been no Nepal and we would have been called Indians today.

For that alone, i am willing to accept him as a founding father of Nepal. I am willing to accept him as a founding father regardless of the possible wrong he might have commited.

I also do not want to discredit any on PNS based on his inbred lunatic offsprings. I agree that majority of Shah were just an inbred lunatic dictators. PNS and Mahendra were the only two visionary leaders Nepal had so far.

Some facts from the History

1.       Prithvi Narayan Shah attempted many times but could not succeed to capture the valley.

2.       He brought weapons from British to attack the valley by making white people happy.

3.       He blocked food supply and trade from the Tibet. It was the policy of British people to increase their business. From that time Nepal became India dependent.

4.       When he got victory over the Newar people of the valley he ordered to cut the nose and ears of all the people of Kritipur and throw that to Balku River.

5.       Newar culture was so much advanced during Malla era.  They had done good progress in art and architecture. Most of them were destroyed by the Shah rulers and they were not allowed to build any further.

6.       He never treated rulers of lost states as former kings and but just losers.
