स्वतन्त्र प्रेस र चौथो अंग भन्दै कुर्लने यी डाकाहरुको द्वेध चरित्र अस्ति भक्कर रिपोर्टर्स क्लबमा आंग काजीको भासन पछि देखियो | नाम "स्वतन्त्र" भन्ने काम चाही पछापति गर्ने? तेसका बाउको काम भनेको समाचार टिपेर जनता सामु पुराउने होइन? कि समाचार टिप्दा टिप्दै समाचार प्रतिनै आक्रोशित रुपमा प्रतिक्रिया दिने | त्यो काम त पाठक एवं जनताको हो नि , कि यी पत्रकार माफियाहरुको हो ?? पत्रकारिताको बेवारिक ज्ञान समेत नभका येस्ता जन्तुहरु कसरि पत्रकार हुन्छन मलाई थाहा छैन , भरे आफुलाई केहि पर्यो भने चाही फेरी तेही खोक्रो आडम्बरी 'स्वतन्त्र प्रेस' र 'देश को निस्पछ चौथो अंग माथि हमला" भन्दै कुर्लन्छ |  तेरा बाउ , कहिले पनि स्वन्तन्त्र रुपमा पत्रकारिता गरेनौ र त मुलाहरु देशका चौथौ अंग त के कुनै नि अंग होइनौ | तहरुले कहिले नि निस्पछ रुपमा समाचार लेख्या भएपो विश्वास गर्ने | जहिले नि तेही चोर नेताहरुको समाचार छाप्यो देशलाई झुक्कयो | कहिले पिछडिएका जात बिशेसका समाचारलाई प्राथमिकताका साथ् छापेउ ?? तहरु भनेका सिर्फ नेता, हुने-खानेका टट्टूहरु हुन् | मुला पत्रकारहरु !!!, पत्रकारिता भनेको के हो, बाहिर गएर सिकेर आऔ | अनि आएर निस्पछ र स्वन्तन्त्र पत्रकारिताको कुरा गर | साले भाते हो पत्रकारको बिल्ला झुन्डाउने अनि बिरोध कार्यक्रमहरु आयोजना गर्ने , कुनै जात बिशेसलाइ खेदो गर्ने? तेस्तो हो पत्रकारिताको धर्म भनेको ??

I know the level of nepali journalists you remember few incidents such as after gyanendra left palace, one photographer had fight with an actress, etc

 Bittertruth, हो पत्रकारले professionalism देखाउन नसकेकै हो !! पाठक, दर्शक  र श्रोता को काम हो मुल्यांकन गर्ने !! पत्रकारको धर्म  सम्रेसन गर्नु बिना तोडमोड हो !! ( प्रेस  स्वतन्त्रताका उदाहरण  भएका अमेरिका, बेलाएत जस्ता देशमा त शतप्रतिसत  पालना हुन्नन् भने भखर सिक्दै गरेका च्याउसरि मेडियाकर्मी बाट धेरै ब्याबसाहिकता खोज्नु अलि बढी होला  |) त्यो भन्दैमा हामीले सक्दैनौ र गर्न हुन्न भन्नु गलत हो !! त्यो लट्ठु  टिभी  पत्रकार (निलो टिसर्ट लाएर उफ्रिने ) त कुनै हिसाबले पनि पत्रकार देखिएन  तेस बखत  ! यतिकैमा Slippery slope मा नलाग ...सबै खत्तम भन्नु उचित नहोला !! 

हाम्रा grgDai फरक धेरै छुट्टयाउन आउने रहेछ ! खुसि लाग्यो !!  अर्को धागोको तिम्रो तर्क सापट लिदै भन्छु "निकाल  तेस्लाई " भन्दै चिच्याको तेहा पिट्नलाइ होइन होला , त्यो पनि दर्जनौ क्यामेरा सामु !! हातपातमै उत्रिनु त कसैले पनि सक्दैन थियो होला त्यहाँ !

सञ्चारकर्मीमाथि आक्रमण

सञ्चारकर्मीहरू माथि संसारभर दुर्व्यवहार हुनेगरेको छ। विशेषगरी सरकार र सशस्त्र समूहहरूले आआफ्ना अत्याचार, अपराध लुकाउन पत्रकारलाई तर्साउने क्रममा दुर्व्यवहार गर्ने गरेको देखिएको छ। तर, शान्तिपूर्ण आन्दोलनहरूमा भने सामान्यतः पत्रकारहरूप्रति खासै शत्रुतापूर्ण व्यवहार गरिँदैन। 
दुर्भाग्य, नेपाल भने यसको अपवाद बन्दै आएको छ। धेरैजसो सरकारी सुरक्षाकर्मीले सञ्चारकर्मीलाई वैरी ठान्ने गरेको देखिन्थ्यो। जनजाति आदिवासीहरूसँग सम्बन्धित संगठनहरूले गरेको पछिल्लो बन्द भने त्यसको अपवाद बन्यो। सरकारी सुरक्षाकर्मी नभएर आन्दोलनकारी पत्रकारविरुद्ध खनिए। बन्द गराउन बल प्रदर्शन गर्ने क्रममा सञ्चारकर्मी र उनीहरूले प्रयोग गरेका सवारी साधनलाई आक्रमणको निसाना बनाए। बिहानैदेखि आन्दोलनकारीको कोपभाजन बनेका सञ्चारकर्मी पनि बढी नै क्षुब्ध हुनपुगे। 
आन्दोलनका बारेमा जानकारी दिन आयोजित पत्रकार सम्मेलनको घटनाले त झन् पत्रकार र सञ्चारकर्मीबीचको कटुता बढाइदियो। आक्रमणको तारो बन्न पुगेका पत्रकारहरूले आन्दोलनकारीका नेताबाट थप फटकार र धम्की सुनेपछि उग्र प्रतिक्रिया देखाए। पत्रकार सम्मेलन भाँडियो। त्यसपछि पनि पक्षविपक्षमा कटुतापूर्ण प्रचारवाजी कायमै रह्यो। यसले एक अर्काप्रति असहिष्णु देखिएका पक्षहरूको मात्र हैन सिंगै समाजको हानि भएको छ र नेपाली जाति नै लोकतान्त्रिक संस्कार र व्यावसायिक मर्यादा नभएको समूहका रूपमा चित्रित भएको छ। कारण, यस प्रकरणमा आन्दोलनकारीले त उग्रता देखाए नै सञ्चारकर्मीले पनि पेसागत मर्यादाअनुसारको आचरण गरेको देखिएन। आफ्नो पक्षमा समाचार नदिनेहरूसँग गुनासो गर्ने हक सबै नागरिकको हुन्छ। तर, त्यसैलाई धम्कीका रूपमा प्रस्तुत गर्दा सञ्चारकर्मीहरू उत्तेजित भए। सञ्चार गृहहरूलाई सार्वजनिकरूपमै ... ध्वस्त बनाउने' धम्की दिनु अत्यन्त आपत्तिजनक र निन्दनीय व्यवहार हो। यस्तै, आफ्नो आन्दोलनमा भएको तोडफोड र हिंसाका लागि अरूमाथि दोष थुपार्नु पनि उत्तिकै गैरजिम्मेवार व्यवहार हो। पत्रकारमाथि भएको आक्रमणको नैतिक जिम्मेवारीबाट आन्दोलनकारी नेतृŒव उम्कन सत्तै्कन। किन्तु, त्यस्तो व्यवहारको सडक वा घटनास्थलमै प्रतिवाद गर्ने काम भने सञ्चारकर्मीको होइन। पत्रकार सम्मेलनमा वक्ताले दिएको धम्की सहनै नसक्ने अवस्था उत्पन्न भए पत्रकारहरू कार्यक्रम स्थलबाट बाहिरिनुपर्थ्यो। नभए, कारण जनाएर सांकेतिक विरोधका रूपमा कार्यक्रमको समाचार नदिए पनि हुन्थ्यो। तर, पत्रकारहरू स्वयं नै प्रतिवादीकारूपमा प्रस्तुत भए। सञ्चारकर्मीको व्यवहार पनि अशोभनीय र आपत्तिजनक बन्न पुग्यो। फलस्वरूप, सञ्चारकर्मीलाई धम्की दिनेले सायद पछुतो मानेनन्। घटनाको सही विश्लेषण र व्याख्या गर्दा दुवै पक्ष दोषी ठहरिए। यसले धम्की दिनेको भन्दा सञ्चारजगत्कै बढी हानि भएको छ।
पत्रकारले व्यावसायिक मर्यादाको ख्याल राखेरमात्र नैतिक शक्ति हासिल हुने हो। संविधान, कानुन, र समाजले सञ्चारजगत्लाई दिएको सुरक्षा, प्राथमिकता तथा स्नेह पत्रकारहरूले व्यावसायिक मर्यादाभित्र बसेमात्र प्राप्त र प्रयोग गर्न सक्छन्। सञ्चारकर्मी त घटनाको साक्षीमात्र हुनसक्नुपर्छ। मानवीय कमजोरी वा आवेगबाट मुक्त हुन निश्चय पनि कठिन हुन्छ। तर स्वेच्छाले व्यवसाय अपनाएका कारण सञ्चारकर्मीले पेसागत धर्म पालन गर्नैपर्छ। व्यावसायिक मर्यादा पालन नगरे सञ्चारकर्मीका रूपमा सुरक्षा र अधिकार खोज्नै नैतिक वैधता हुँँदैन। यद्यपि, संयमको तात्पर्य ...आत्म नियन्त्रण' वा ...तटस्थताका नाममा पलायन' अवश्य पनि होइन।
यसैले आइतबारको घटनाबाट दुवै पक्षले सिक्नु आवश्यक छ। सञ्चारकर्मीका क्रियाकलापमा चित्त नबुझे उपचारका अनेकौँ उपाय छन् तर भौतिक आक्रमण गर्नु वा गर्ने धम्की दिनु सामाजिक दृष्टिले पनि अपराध हो। सञ्चारकर्मीलाई धम्क्याएर कजाउने सोच पनि अलोकतान्त्रिक सामन्ती प्रवृत्ति हो। आफ्नो स्वतन्त्रता जोगाउन सिंगो सञ्चारजगत् एक ढिक्का हुन्छ। त्यस अवस्थामा पत्रकारहरूमाथि जाइलाग्नु वा तिनलाई जिस्क्याउनु निकै महंगो पर्नसक्छ। सञ्चारकर्मीले पनि पेसागत मर्यादा राख्नैपर्छ। पत्रकारको आवरणमा राजनीतिक कार्यकर्ताको आचरण गर्नु हुँदैन। पत्रकारहरूले आचरणमा सुधार गर्नुपर्ने विषय अरू पनि धेरै छन् तर पेसागत धर्म र संयममात्र अपनाए पनि पटकपटक आक्रमणको निसाना बन्नुपर्ने छैन।

we can't even compare CNN,fox with those lunatics. They are simply incomparable , they are plain idiots. News channels are biased here, I'm very much aware of it, whatever they do here is just limited to verbal. They don't go and get physical to invitees on their show. Now look at those nepalese media pundits, how could they even dare to get physical with the speaker. They should be banned from journalism, or they should apologize for their shameful behavior. Ang Kazi already apologized. Now, it's their turn. If they don't , in future, they'll be inviting very worst fate upon them. But the irony is they are,instead, marching protest. Those journalists back home have crossed their line of idiocy. God save them.

 Bitter, the protest by journalists was not to justify this particular act. It was against  acts by organizers of Nepal-band and for Press Freedom. Please do not amalgamate facts to prove a point !

Press should be barred from such activities if they really want to be free press or care for PRESS FREEDOM. The moment they conduct events like these, it shows their political motives. There is no difference between them and political parties who conducts events like these to make government hear their voices. All they do is to WRITE, WRITE WRITE to make their voices heard. I've never seen or heard press organizing protests against protest. Like I mentioned earlier, Nepalese Press is one piece in the world. It's not their job to protest against Nepal-bandh. Let the public rise and do it. Their job is to cover news and relay it. That's it. ANd, I'm not trying to twist and mix facts. I'm not placing my viewpoints in the interest of specific group as well. All I'm saying is Nepalese Press has become a hoodlum of idiots. They better change their policy quick or they'll be axing their own feet.

You can't ban any media, best thing to do is legally punish those few journalists if anyone manhandled on duty but barring media person is wrong to do. And inciting ethnical violence is a crime.

This could go on and on.... I think people need to understand the real issue here. First of all these janajatiya or any jatiya andolan is not justified. As per these kaji and the journalist, they are both stupid. Kaji should have never said whatever he said at the podium regardless of his high emotions, that's not how true leader expresses harshness. He reminded me of one sob named prachanda. Talking about the journalist, I agree with him not being professional. This is what happens if the nation is in tormoil. Bigger netas are happy because we the common are now more about this stupid kaji and journalist rather these big heads trying to break this nation apart. I don't think it is wise to come here and support any ethnicity or religion or region. That for me is clear stupidity.

I feel like this thing will keep going on and on if we as a civilian don't start thinking of big virus.
We need to unite guys not argue on stuff like this. This may happen in another press conference with Cherri or some other ethnic leader and that time maybe it will be another press guy, so what we were going to argue again and again? If the journalist is wrong then bring him within the circle of law and or expell him from his job so other can respectfully handle their job.

Plz guys I definitely understand why some of us are pissed off with what happened. But imagine do you guys think this would have taken place if they have not ever decided to break this country in first place? So you guys decide which is more sensitive and which should be focused more.

Imagine somebody coming in between your family and agressively statest that he is going to kill you all. Would you tolerate ?    Would you let him speak.   Yeah Journalist wanted Ang kaji to remove from the platform. But they didn't beat him up.

Of course Jouranlist could have easily boycotted his statement. But then what , if they had boycotted tomorrow all their journalist would have been beaten in the street for not covering their news.  Their media house might be burnt.


I know nepali media has  a lot to learn. But we all are born from same culture.  Our Neta are from us.   OUr teacher are from us, doctors are from us. So there is politics in each field. We think   doing  SHANTIPURNA   banda is  Loktantrik and within the rights.

Look, whether you agree with Ang Sherpa or not, it is the journalists' solemn duty to report that objectively in their paper and, if they wish, criticize his words in the editorial/opinion column.  That's all.

very thoughtful thread guyz.........i cannot agree more........reporters have gone wild with press-freedom thing........they have forgotten their own limits..........i had watched the kantipur news when this thing with Mr. Sherpa took place and the four different segments including their "janamat" section was covering the issues on press freedom and vandalism on press vehicles.
