Sony Alpha A230 was my first DSLR and I liked it very much. If this is your first DSLR, go for it. Nikon D90 is the best when it comes to DSLR but that is for pros and way expensive than A230. This following review should give you a good idea about Sony Alpha DSLR A230 camera.

 DSLR kinne pani need huncha ra bro? Want holani lol kidding. I have a nikon D3000, cheap among the DSLRs and it takes good pictures, may be spend more money on lens. Looks at some sample pictures of d3000 and decide for yourself. you may get it for 450, bear in mind it doesn't take videos. D5000, D3100 are other options if you want to spend around 700, D90 around 1200. But first ask yourself why you want a DSLR, it may narrow your search.
