It's a tough test but not an impossible one. It's scored differently than other standardized tests. The harder questions are towards the beginning. If you can answer those correctly, you're chances of getting a higher score are good. Also, the next question is always based on how you answered the previous question. So basically the questions on the test are "customized" to your capabilities. It has a different algorithm to it, any GMAT book will help explain it. With respect to GMAT practice books, I would recommend the official GMAT book published by the MBA. If you're well versed with the concepts, I would suggest taking full length computer based practice tests as opposed to practicing in on paper. There's a whole lot of difference there. Timing is all that matters if you know your math and Grammar. Good luck!

yup i couldn't have said any better...having given it a couple of times already...it crushes you but it aint impossible try doing as many tests as possible...TIMED download the practice tests from GMAC.com/MBA.com , after you are done with the first ones , uninstall the program, DELETE the program from your programs folder manually and then download and install a fresh copy of the file...chances are you might see some of the same questions but you will see different ones too ( taking into account the same difficulty level as well). As the post before mentioned, GMAC's materials are the closest to real thing. Good luck

I would say timing is the most important thing. Going through some practice sets helps but the kind of questions that show up in the test are different from what you see in these practice sets. I anticipated the test to be of the same difficulty level as the ones that these tests portray however the questions were kind of difficult for me. Practice should help in the sense that u get used to the test and its format. Don't panic because the more difficult the questions are the higher is your score. Take it easy :)
