I graduated recently and currently on my OPT. My situation is I got married last month. My wife has a green card through aslyum. On her green card it says resident since 02/15/06. As per my understanding I have to wait till she gets her citizenship to change my status or is there any thing I can or have to do. If there is way that i can maintain my staus through her or even process my green card please let me know. Anyone in the same situation??? Or anyone with immigration knowledge.

Tapaiko status change garna wife le citizenship nai lina parcha vanne chaina. She can directly file GC for you from her status. But, you have 2 wait more years to get GC from that way. kura aile satus ko matra raheko huda after you file GC you will receive one letter from the USCIS. and that is enough for you to keep u in status. In addition take suggestion from immigration lawyers. Good Luck and have a happy married life. Kabita.
