What is the current Normal  H1B Processing Time, not Premium?

that is a huge range.
if i start normal processing now what will be the time frame.
i know premium processing, you will know the result with in 15 days.
but what about normal processing.
since only few are applying this year, it ought to be fast...isn't it?

It ought to be fast but lots of background check. Like the company you are filing for, your documents , etc etc.

Xcopsgen,

I know it is a huge Range..One of my friends from my older employer Filed H1b with all the Docs on April1,2009 on MS cap at VSC..His case is still is still Lingering , No RFE nothing.."case pending" ..Was a genuine company..I mean spend Extra 1000 bucks..If all goes well will receive Approval Notice within 15 business days..I filed H1 this yr, was approved within 10 days ..I had done Normal processing..Really felt stange..

Have also seen people who case are still pending for h1b since 1.5 yrs..background check.This nd that..

Currently both Vermont and California Service Centers are processing the H-1B petitions in between 2 to 4 months, excluding the RFE period.
