do difensive driving course. it will dismiss your ticket and lower upto 10-15 % of your insurance and wont show in driving record too.
All the best

Fight the ticket, plead not guilty no matter what.
Hiring a lawyer helps, but might not be worth it economically. Chances are that the cop will negotiate with you and lower the point. Ask for NO points (fine only) reduction.
It also depends upon where you got the ticket. Viriginia has stricter laws while some counties in NY have arbitrator representing the cops. If the Cop doesn't show up, you will win the case in most courts (except for those where arbtitrators are present, or where a COP asks another cop to represent), so maybe ask for a later date.
Best advice: Drive slow. Atmost 9 MPH over the zone in highway (practical advice) and 0 MPH over the zone in residential area.

Not a biggie, no need to hire a lawyer, the record stays for about 2 years(depending upon which state you are in). the court they say is not actually a court, they take money at a counter and let you go. Try to negotiate though, not worth filing a case. Insurance goes up but just a few bucks with just one ticket, may be (20 bucks per six month). You may have an option to go to the driving class, may cost a little more but the point doesn't go to the record that way and the insurance doesn't go up. To make you feel good I got more than one and it's not that bad. Hope it helps.

I got one in Maryland recently. I pleaded gulity. Basically you have option of paying the fine, but if you do that then u will also have to take the points whihc will increase your incsurance when it renews.
I would suggest, if you dont pay within 3 weeks the court will assign you a court date. go to court and just listen to what the judge has to say. your case will be heard for few seconds and you go off the hook. You will be lucky if the cop who gave you ticket doe snot show up in court. what it means fo ryou is, whne judge asks for " do u plead guilty or not' you can say not guilty. If the cop who gave you ticket is not around then there is no case. but if he is around during your receding, its wise to plead guilty and pay fine. Normally when u go to court they reduce the fine. the mommen tyou step into court what ticket says does not ammter, what judge says in that dya maatres the most. So once in court judge are normally pretty lenient. you will get away with minimal fine and no points. But if you dont contest in court and pay the fine, you will lossse money as well as points will be assessed.
My suggestion go to court. plead guilty if you see the cop who gave you ticket, if the cop is not there then when judge asks you what do yu plead say not guilty. thats it case closed. you will belucky if the cop doe snot show up. but if you go to court you have to pay court charges which is normally under $30 plus the fine.
i paid $300 in fine $27 for court charges and $70 for the course i was ordered by judge to take, but no point was assessed coz i went to court and accept to take the course.
hope it helps
Keep it to the right speed. it was an expensinve ticket for me, it took my budget away for Wii.

Just write a check and mail the fine. No hassle or anything.

Some one posted this note regarding the tickets.
Deal what ever you have to do, when times come to pay the fine or penalty send 2-3 dollars more than the stated. They will send you a check back for the difference and never cash it. If you do not cash the difference check sent to you. It will not be effective to your speeding until cashed.
Do not know it works or not but worth it of trying ????????
