i'm sad with this movie "KAGBENI" !!

being as a movie lover i would say "VERY VERY BAD MOVIES".

worst of money and time killer movie, stop to make foolish to the audiance.

the makers (mostly writer and director) should be learn basic principal of movie making.

it is not a music video or talk show programm. they tried to make 'KAGBENI' but they made it 'FISTOBENI' . lol

 producers has to learn : what is cinema ? why should be make cinema ? particularly 'why in this story? why this director? you have to strong answer before making. huh

i apriciated to you guys (makers team) cose 'you'r trying to create something' !

People are using too many emoticons  in their posts just because it's free. There should be a limit to usage of such emoticons  like there is to the number of posts one can make  in a day.

Kagbeni is a really good movie.
dialogs are simple and in common people's bolichali ko basha.
different taste of nepali movie, better than copying indians, with stupid song and dance sequence.

l know for a fact that "kagbeni"'s story in similar to " the monkey's paw." the paw, the omen, the wish, the death, and the ending all similar to "the monkey's paw." remember doing the play,ie monkey's paw, in highschool. having said that, a few people have said that they liked the movie but i have yet to see it for myself.

I have not watched "Kagbeni" yet, but am looking forward to it, once its DVD becomes available.  (BTW, is it out yet?  And if so, where can I buy it in the US?) 

The reviews were raving:  A new kind of movie....  Not your typical Kollywood movie that imitates Bollywood.... Actors did tremendous job, particularly Nima Rumba.... Director Dahal turned out to be really good at his job.... etc. etc.  Needless to say, my expectations have been raised, I hope the movie will match the hype.

As for the similarity of Kagbeni to The Monkey's Paw, I think the makers of the movie explicitly said that the latter is the inspiration of the former.  Ram Gopal Verma made it clear that his movie, Sarkar, is inspired by and homage to Godfather.  When one gives credit to where credit is due, I do not call that plagiarism.  In fact, I find that worthy of respect.

 

 

I watched "kagbeni" last week in DVD, a kollywood movie after long time. Especially I liked the art, cinematography and great acting by Pukar Malla. I dont think Nima Rumba did the great job, however he has done justice in his role. I would say it as a 'Documentary' rather than movie except few dramatic turns. I didnt like the unrealistic story of monkey's paw. But I liked the moral "Be carefull before you wish something" based on that.

They might have choosen "kagbeni" based on that particular story based on kagbeni  premises. And watching this movie is worthy.

Dont expect too much from this movie .. As "Stat" mentioned above.. It is more like Documentary than a "Movie"

 

It is one of the "watch and forget" kinda Documentary'... oh sorry Movie .. :)
