Samsara, I thought you were sensible enough to talk in a decent way. Look at your language-straight from the streets of Jackson Heights!!! When are we going to learn to discuss? Look at Lootekukur...even though he disagrees, he has kept his cool! You guys should learn something from him. And, honestly, I know he is one of the most knowledgeable person at Sajha.

VincentBodega, you lil gerbil...Hypocrites or multi-personality Psychizos like you make me wanna put my dick in your mouth and make you choke on it. Again, going back to history lessons, KG was in office for a mere 17 months before he got sent packing. In his term he did more to the Maoists than GP and his cronies ever did. The death toll reduced significantly and HE initiated the talks with the Maoists (whcih GPK and his cronies did not) which was always being hampered by the SPAM dickheads. Did you just sleep though those years as it feels like I'm talking to someone who just came outta living under a rock for 10 years!!

Samsara, I was in the country during that time and you are wrong. All King Gyanendra did at that time was go on trips all over the country with his tough upper lip. That is all he did. Nothing more and if I am not lying, someone is. I wonder who that is now ...

Nepal is neither going to hell nor to heaven. Unfortunately, it will stay put right here on this earth and we will be talking about it's problems for at least another 5-10 years till things break one way or another.

SAMSARA - i dont think your unmatured brain can handle political issues. You dont even know how to debate. Anybody can use foul language to emphasis their point. May be thats how you were raised and you might think its natural.

it's a strange discussion, we have a government now elected by people, don't know how many countries would have it. Every time people need change, people have come out in streets and gotten it. Don't see anything wrong with Maoist coming to power, common it's not general election, it's a election to write constitution. Maoist's got two years to come up with things to impress people, there's another election coming up in two years. UML, NC & Maoist all have two more years to prove themselves. King & Multiparty democracy can't exist in Nepal. there can't be two powers ruling the country. Maoist has promised something, saying they are gonna do something to country. Give em a chance n decide 4 urself if they are gonna make or break the country. UML and NC were killing the country men slowly, taking away employement oppurtunities, corruption, development projects, and how can you feel like you can survive with those parties???? Maoist killed, UML & NC created the environment for Maoist to grow. When Maoist was a small insurgency, those parties neglected em and now let em pay for it. People will come to street again, if Maoist fail..:)

I agree with Nepali Dai.
We should give them an OPPURTUNITY to bring upon change.
We gave NC and UML - 18 long years
Can't we spare few years for Maobadis

Samsara - I think with the kind of arrogance you have displayed, you might be a perfect fit to suck on your own dic...
The only reason i am rooting for Maoist is that they might just be our LAST HOPE.
Can someone convince me why should we trust what NC and UML has to say, give me one reason.

We have loosened many things under Kingship and Nepali congress while signing treaties with India . Now Boooo is saying Prachand will stand up, I am pretty sure India will has may trick and trades to play with Nepali rulers. And Prachand will be just like a pet of India.
If India tightens his political knot & bolts we may loose more than we did in past. Prachanda ( if his party rules ) will keep signing worst treaties than in past, just to stay in power.
Who ever in the office has to face India, a cunning fox. Make him happy and rule Nepal.

The days of monarchy are gone and the so called mainsteam democratic parties like mostly congress and to some extent spineless stem known as UML have brought us to the present situation of utter gloom of hopelessness. But can you envisage that an ultra communist group which calls itself MAOIST, remember those days of 1969-73 under Mao's wife and her gang of Four administering the killings of some 100 million people under the brand name Maoism, be an allcure to present Nepali ailments in this 21 century? If this is not a harcore communist group as suggested by some, will it ever commit the universally respected democratic norms ? If you believe it will do this, how its radical ideology and Maoist brand name serve its self claimed revolutionery transformation of Nepal ?
I am really puzzled . I really don't see any rats in their election manifesto known as commitment papaer, but I have serious doubts will Nepal ever come back to the fullest democracy under them ?
I am not biased but I don't really understad what Maoists , in fact , want to do and based on the maifesto alone I can not fathom an iota of clue for Nepal's future. I am really puzzled thinking what will happen next ? Was this just yet another election in the series or more sinister of a epoch making event to take us to gloom ?
Do yo really believe that coming times for Nepal are going to be bright ushering us to success and pride ? On the hindsight , I wanted the old corrupted faces punished but perhaps not at the cost of having yet another dogma fill in those shoes !
I am not a royalist nor a rich person but have gained lots of experience by being in the inner provinces of communist China and on the border of South Korea along the North .I have seen and shared experiences of the Cubans in Florida and the comparision just comes in mind .
Nepali Maoists may be Poor people's Mesiahas but the Communist and Maoist brand creeping in my psyche does not let me take a nap ever since their surge entered my nation. Earlier they had taken the nation hostage by intimidation and instilling fear in the minds of people but now it looks they will be arrogantly euphoric as they will claim that they have been given a stamp of validation by people on the face.
I don't know , where are we heading .

Coming from the extremely rural region of Nepal, I can say that Maoists have done a lot of mistakes and unethical activities in the past, but they actually weren't as bad as they were potrayed in the media. I think Nepal will be better in the hands of Maoists than any Gynendra, Girija or Madhab. If you are scared about losing freedom, some people will definitely lose it, but for general public like us, I don't think it will affect much. Do you think there actually was true Democracy in Nepal in the last 15 years when the Goverment of Girija and Sher Bahadur announced prices on their heads ?

Let's see as there is no other way out. Thank you for trying to allay my fears.
But I wish , given the responsibility Maoists will act responsibly. This is what it should be , we are not prepared for any more experimentation. Wish maoists cast all their evil garbs and act in a truly committed spirit. Then only , they will win hearts and minds of people a part from wars and elections.

This forum used to packed with Anti Maoist just before election. Suddenly number of maoist supporters and sympathizers are appearing in this site. That means " Jasko Shakti Usko bhatki'. People always follow power. And one day when Maoist falls from power, these people who are speaking for them would dissapear and would support those who comes into power next.
