There are a lot of Indian IT consultancy firms out there and they say the are the best. But my saying is you can't know before entering into that.  Although I can give you some name  which you can dig into.

Something true no matter which consultancy you apply through. -

If you have a undergrad degree then chances become slim. Keep an alternative. If you have a grad degree, your chances are higher.

Siwani... believe me.. non of the Indian consultancy is good enough... I am telling from my experience. My suggestion is to try for direct job...

It's time to apply for the H1B and it is really difficult to provide all the required documents.I completed my graduate on May-2007(spring) and because of that I am having 10 days gap from sep 20th - sep 30th 2008.My employer is asking the evidence of my legal stay at that time to apply H1B. The only choice for me is to get new I-20(for that gap), however I need to get that I-20 before April and I inquired so many institutes and universities.Some of them are ready to issue but that will invalidate my OPT. If you have gone through this type of situation please share some ideas.I would appreatiate your cooperation.

Legally, you are not suppose to give any documents for your gap period. The only idea is to remain in status, you can join Kaplan or similar institute for GRE or anything.

Was in a similar problem. This is what i did.

1) Got admitted to a new school.
2) Got the transfer out form filled at the end of OPT date.
Here is what I attached
A) Screen shot of transfer out from ISO official
B) Acceptance letter to the new school
C) Unofficial letter from ISO of old school stating that the date was later because if I was transferred on an earlier date, my OPT would have canceled.
