Arrogant, the time you want to take for the grace period depends on how you have planned for your future. But I would recommend to take the grace period before the OPT starts because that way you can get prepare to get into grad school. In case you wanna keep working, it is easier to use the grace period before hand as you are not sure if you will get a decent job as soon as you graduate. My two cents.

Well you've a total of 14 months of time with OPT after u graduate, so its the same thing when u take the grace period at the beginning or at the end.....Taking the grace at the end doesn't mean that you don't have to join Kaplan to be in status......You won't get 15 months when u take @ the end....the total time still will be 14 months Kukur....I was just wondering about whether to take at the beginning or at the end......

Arrogant, I said so assuming you have not taken your GRE/ GMAT. So, if you take the grace period while searching for job, you can prepare for GRE/GMAT.  That is just on point of voew. there are plenty of other options too.

And by the way you do get a window of 5 months to joins Grad school provided you are already accepted to a GRad school before your OPT expires. So, think what you want.
