I am worried about increasing usage of soccer to mean football. Although soccer is used mostly by americans to differentiate american football from football, others too have started using it a lot. This worries me since I can never mean football by saying it soccer. Etymologically football is the game played by kicking the ball.So football is football and american football is not the true football. Please don't use soccer to mean football unless it is absolutely necessary.

Exactly, Not a big issue at all. Go outside the USA and football will always be called football.
