 samester break

hi, guys
i m studying in a community college in virginia and i want to go to Nepal taking break in next samester and after returning back from nepal i want to get tranfer to a university. now, i m in dilema wheather i should get transfer first and take a samester break from that university or i should start transfer process to that university after reutrning back from nepal.
any kind of advice will be appreciated.

If I were you, I would start the transfer process now and take a semester break from the entering university than from a community college. I do not have any strong reasons, but why wait if you can do it now. Moreover, I 'd think that a bigger university will probably have dealt with cases like yours before than a community college. Hence, smooth process.
