I think the answer is - they are going to put these new kids in the cantonments instead of real maoists and the real ones will be freely waling around in the neighborhoods... the UN and the rest of the nations should be careful..

This is a war tactic - and a very serious one..don't be fooled by the peace signature!!!

Do you object my knowledge?????

Loote ji, they have raised valid points which none of the other rulers were able to address. at least they know the essence of the problem of nepal and are fighting to solve them.

Will you please elaborate this?

I might be wrong. But besides the issue of Monarchy, I don't think Maoists have done anything better. If we talk about awareness being created amongst the people of Nepal about what is right and What is wrong, the credit should be given to the Media Freedom, which is an achievement of 2046 BS peoples movement.

khoi kunni hai, yaso kura khotaleko maatrai.... lekhum lekhum... :-)

Education and media sectors are the greatest and important achievements of 2046 Andolan.

Unlike media education (not literacy) takes longer time to develop. So, half-educated mass was susceptible to follow maoist's slogans for two reasons.
1. genuine slogans - theoritically (thats what i call it)
2. anarchic freedom when joined in PLA.

ok, to the point of this thread, why? because they know that this is the last time they can show their power to threaten, kill, abduct, or rule as a separate government. Theoritically, their power ended yesterday.

I believe that once again they will show their barbaric character by disrespecting human rights when they acknowledge (psychologically) the CPA. This will be a shock-effect, for their loss of power.

Loote,
I try not to be prejudiced towards life in general. However, no matter what reason you give to justify your point, the fact remains that they are recruiting children and nothing can actually justify this action. NOTHING with capital N...it's not just about violating human rights..it's about violating children's rights..and children's lives...
I agree there is bound to some case of human rights violation during revolution..however, that doesn't mean that you can use children to make your point..NO WAY LOOTE..If you don't agree with me, I'm not doing bhai tika next year..:) so better behave..

camo bro,
yes, you are right to some extent. the first and foremost thing maoists have always wanted is a demoratic republic of nepal because they were able to analyze the problem of nepal - the social disparity. for any country to prosper and rise, it needs to have a just society which does NOT discriminate people based on their caste, creed, race or locations.

the 'samantis' - suckers - of our society have always used poor, dalit , women and children. we have a system which force a poor to stoop in front of the privileged people. You have to respect people with the likes of parash shah and sharad chandra shah even if you have a Phd in economics or something. king is always respected despite his wrong deeds and ill intentions/motives. how fair is that?

this hierarchichal chain of 'samantabad' starts from the palace and king is the head of it. we need to demolish this hierarchy so as to establish a just society and the best point of start to this move is by ousting the king. the demolition will continue to reach to the village level to help the poor and dalits get out of the manipulation from samantis.

=============================

Maranchyase,
its not that we did not get anything out of 2046 BS movement. of course, we got out of the totalitarian panachayati system and media rights were revived and retained, but the major problem of ours - social disparity was never, never addressed, let alone rectifying the problem.

=============================

Sn di,
hehe....i agree with you - 100%. No one, No one (with capital N :P) has a right to violate the human rights and more so that of children. but which children are we talking about? let's see- children of the rural village of nepal, right? children who hardly get enough food to satiate their hunger. children who have to work after their home at a tender age, children who have to go to the forest to get woods instead of to the school to study. children who don't get enough sleep to dream about a secured and prosperous future....let's not talk about what goes on with the children of dalits....

where is your human right - children rights didu? who is supposed to inspect to see if no one's right is violated- the system and the rulers? did they give a damn as of today?

people like prachanda and baburam started their revolution to fight against this odd of our society. people who were/are used by the society lend their hands and of full support to them in the revolution. even kids came out to help them. the reason being, they want to fight against the evil - their misfortune..... if ONLY this is violation of human rights then be it- let it be violated but they need to see a just nepal with an equitable society where everyone has a share of their basic rights.

The monarchy has failed us so did the so called Congress, CPN, Ra Pra Praaetc. Now is the time to abolish that deep-seeded cause of misery ie feudalism and nepotism and conduct a fair and free CA and thereby create a model democracy where everyone's basic human rights is assured. After 13,000 nepalis have become martyrs and tens of thousands of lives have become displaced if we go back to where we were during the early years of constitutional monarchy or absolute monarchy (panchayat system), the sacrifices of those lives will go in vain.
Along the path to heaven, there could be a lot of difficulties and hardships. But at the end of each passing day, if we notice considerable progress than the day before, that's good enough.

Can violence be justified in politics? You guys who keep on asking this question to Maoists, have u ever asked the use of violence by US for war against terror? US believes that using violence to fight against terrorism is justified. Maoists believe that using violence against feudalism is justified

MailoBhai,
if you go through what prachanda spoke in the summit at new delhi, you will come to know that maoists are here NOT to impose monolithic communism of stalin brand in nepal. they have time and again reiterated that they are here to remain under the umbrella of multiparty democracy. they believe in competitive party theory and so far they have showed full conviction to the multiparty democracy. why so much fuss, if i may ask?

Like prachanda said in the Leadership summit, violence cannot be justified ideologically. But, it will be justified in certain situation and time. If we cannot comprehend the situation in our country, then we can take example of other countries. More than 600,000 people died during American civil war for abolition of slavery. Most people do say that is justified.

Recruitment of children for maoist civil war is not justified. But we cannot/should not make it a deal to oppose all of their action…their action of liberating the suppressed.

Who murdered Birendra’s family is yet to be revealed. But even if it was Gyanendra, wouldn’t nepalis have forgiven him if he had actually done something good for the country?

In order to get rid of evil, one has to resort to violence just like Lord Krishna convinced Arjun to fight against his step brothers, Rama killed Ravana and Goddess Durga slew Mahisasoor.
Since diplomacy failed to resolve the Maoist crisis during the talks between the 'haunters' (the Maoists) and 'the haunted '(Constitutional Monarch, Girija and his succession of anticipatedly precarious 'yehi-mauko-ho' PMs ) failed because the latter were too nervous of the imminent demolition of hierarchical structure of propaganda, corruption, and calculated blood-sucking mechanism that took them over two hundred years to devise. Therefore, 'haunters' in had to overturn the peace talk table upon the 'haunted'. That's the perfect example of diplomacy failing and justified violence taking over.

"even kids came out to help them" Loote bhai, I absolutely disagree. They did not come out to help them..they were forced at gunpoint to come out..not to help them, but have been used, tortured both physically and mentally (to put it mildly)..
My question to you is: Have you really been to the remote areas of Nepal at all?? Agreed they don't have luxury of life..television, refrigerator, carpets etc etc..but do you know that they are happier than people living in ktm or other metropolitan cities of Nepal.. They are so satisfied with what they have and enjoy and respect each and everything they have...I've been to those villages and stayed with them...I don't think that is true after the advent of Maoists into those villages..
Their peace and innocence is ripped off..

sn di,
i am not saying they came out to support the revolution on their own will. but do they have a choice? we all are human beings. we dream - dream of a stable and prosperous future. maoists have used them to some extent, i admit. but they have been used for a greater common purpose which will help nepali, in general, to fulfill their dreams- to establish an equitable society where everyone, regardless of their races and places, is better off.

My question to you is: Have you really been to the remote areas of Nepal at all??

hehe...didu, i have been to many places in nepal. although i am from ktm, i have travelled around nepal quite a bit, trust me! i have been to remote places and have seen the villagers living in hardships. i have seen underage children working their heart out to earn their living. i have seen them eating 'dhido' because they cannot afford to eat rice in spite of owning a fair sized land - the reason being, they are used by the samantis of the villages. it's so freakin disgusting, i can tell you!. you may have seen them as well. they look pretty happy from outside with what they have, because that's how they've been living ever since!

====================
Mailobhai,

i have been to places like rukum and jajrkot. i know maoists' guirella war has intimidated the hell out of the innocent people out there. i am not claiming that maoists have been absolutely fair with people and their choices. but discrepencies are bound to happen in war- that too if it is in the magnitude of a revolution. innocent people do die. french revolution, india's movement for independence all are examples in this context. do you know how many innocents lost their lives in the recent wars in iraq or afghanistan? just because innocent people are killed cannot fully unjustify the bigger aspects for which a war is fought.

===================

Timroba,
hahahahahahahahahahaha.....good depiction yet again! hehe.
