I had made one comment in one of the threads related to the recent discussions about Nas and his album.I don't know why San deleted that thread but I find that as evidence of autocratic nature which also renders useless the recent voting done to show how democratic Sajha is and how sincere its principles are.

The comment I made can be summed up as follows:

Is San going to monitor the site and make his decisions or is he taking majority rule to make decisions just like the one about Nas?

If San is going to let the public decide what they want at Sajha, I don't doubt that one day public will demand porn movies at Sajha. So, are you ready for this San? I find your method of making decisions very childish and immature. You have to think about the future implications of your decisions and your recent voting makes sense only if you are willing to decide future changes based on majority rule.

Furthermore, what defines pornography? Are not all the nude girls (I ain't taking about hot n sexy models out there but fully naked ones) a part of porn? Is your definition of porn valid for all or does it have a different meaning at Sajha?

And, as somebody pointed out somewhere in the other thread, Nas should also make sure the girls he is using out here are not under-age. Moreover, is Ramjham meant to promote semi-nude pictures copied from other sites or is it meant to display individual talent?

I don't care much about the pictures but the policies used by San do have future implications which may not be in favor of the motto of Sajha.

Anyway, it is your private site and I have no right to question you for deleting that thread.

With all Respect...................

Bibas100,

Over the past weeks I have read many postings by you against sajha policy. I realize that I must have made you one very unhappy camper by not allowing you to advertise your blog in sajha. I know that you tried very hard to advertise using different methods but unfortunately as I have reiterated many times, we cannot have people constantly advertising their sites in sajha. I hope you are not taking it personally.

I might be mistaken regarding your motive for your dislike towards sajha policies, in which case please pardon my cynicism, and continue below.

Sajha is a site that I maintain in order to provide a cyberspace for us Nepalis living away from home to have a place to come together. Because of the volume of postings it is not possible for me to monitor everything. If there are polls, then those are taken in order to get a general feedback; but due to the fact that I maintain and run it, I have to make the final decision. In the history of sajha, I have had to make many decisions and I feel that I have made the right decisions. Few times when I have made an error in judgement, I have made changes accordingly. In summary, sajha is a dynamic site, where changes have to be made depending upon user feedback and my discretion.

To answer your question where public is going to decide what happens in sajha, the answer is no. And the simple reason for this no is because polls don't really give an accurate measurement of people's preference in a virtual setting. Out of 20,000 registered users 150 people vote. That is not a good percentage to go by as 'public opinion'. Also, you have to remember that there might be over 10 times more visitors who are not registered. Hence, a public opinion poll is not really an accurate measurement actual opinions. That is why, I take the results of public opinion with a grain of salt and make decisions based on gut feelings and sense of fairness.

I hope I have answered your question.

On a related note, the reason for sajha kurakani is to share different things about Nepal and Nepalis and other interesting things for the Nepali diaspora, and I personally do not like to make sajha kurakani about sajha or myself. If you have any questions regarding sajha policies I would appreciate you contacting me directly, instead of inviting a public debate. Another reason for this is that there might be some postings that I won't get to read and reply on sajha, and I don't want you to think that I am ignoring you.

Best wishes.

San bro,

You should start imposing fine to the website rule violaters. At least that will generate some funds.
Let's start a poll aboout it: Do you want to be fined or blocked if you violate a rule?

Fined
blocked

Bibas100 bro,

You have to understand that Ramjham brings in the partial revenue to support Sajha and its sister sites by placing google ads in Ramjham.

As you have noticed Nas's World attracts lot of visitors to Ramjham because of those images which doesn't "Violate" Sajha's terms. If I were an admin of this site and if someone's album is helping generate revenues, I would not want that album to be deleted. So it's perfectly okay in that sense that Nas's World be allowed its continuity since this album is one of the most viewed albums in Ramjham.

My album used to have "scantily clad hot women" eversince the beginning of Nas's World. It's surprising to know that those people who are against the album just happened to notice those images after almost 7 months and look what a "controversy" they had created against the album now.

I know those people very well, who first started posting threads against Nas's World. Then everybody started jumping in the bandwagon. They were really not against those images in the album but against some of the issues that I made aware in Sajha. Nas's World was just an excuse to attack on Nas.

bibas100,

Your two second of fame is over. Heres how it is. Sajha is a private website, and for that sole reason owner can do whatever he/she likes. If you are using the services, you live in his/her virtual world for that period of time. You dont pay taxes, and the owner doesnt owe you any explanations at YOUR will. If you dont want to live in it anymore, get out! Dont let the door hit you on your way out.

If you want me to take a stab at your questions, let me know. They wont be pretty though.

FYI: I am no San and I do not represent his beliefs and ideas. The words written here may and should not be used to imply otherwise.

I got some issues against NAS. Well some of you do support him and hey everyone has their own opinions. And as far as Iam concerned yea I got some issues. Well I was trying to open this sajha.com at work i.e. from my school and then the pics are posted at the left side (some semi-nude girls). My friend then goes, "hey girl are u trying to access a porn site." And I ain't that kewl as to think yea whatever who gives a shit I'm viewing a website meant for Nepalese abroad.
At home I was again doing this and was going through some stuffs in the home page and then my mom goes "Are you sure you aren't going through some unwanted sites?" Hell no...but since the pics posted there are offesive anyone with half a brain would think that!! Well sajha is a site meant for Nepalese living abroad, almost every Nepali goes through this site to see what everyone has to say regarding the political or whatever situation Nepal's going through and dude it seems like you're turning it to an international site where all the people can view pics of some chicks in indecent outfits or barely dressed at all...duhhh!!!
If you're so interested in posting such pics to show that you get such opportunities to meet girls who let you take their pics and all that crap create you're own website and don't post it here.

Maidenfreak,

I appreciated your feedback. San bro, has already taken care of that situation and now you have an option to hide the diplayed pictures from Ramjham in Sajha.

Bibas100,

Sorry for being a cynic about the blog ads. It's nice to know that we are on the same page regarding advertising in kurakani discussions.

As for the questions:
"You have not answered a couple of my questions. Does a nude picture signify pornography? Are there such pictures in Nas's album? What do you think are the future implications of the poll you had? I know it was just for your feedback and the decision you took was already obvious long before the polls, but the way people think about the way you dealt with the situation is totally different."

First of all I don't think there are any totally nude photos on Nas' album which have any private areas exposed fully. As far as nude picture and pornography is concerned, personally I think it depends on the pictures. Some nude portraits can be considered artwork which some nude pictures can be considered pornographic based on the degree of sexuality or explicitness portrayed by the image. This degree can be different for different individuals that's why it's fair to request no nude images uploaded in ramjham.

Nas might be correct in saying that his album has been online for almost 7 months and noone really opposed it until he started voicing his opinion about a controversial topic. As far as models in bikini are concerned, we see them on TV all the time. We see them at the beach all the time. Which are both family oriented places, yet, we don't think twice about it. Also when you're walking along Times Square in New York or any big cities, you see posters and or images of models in bikinis, and we don't think twice about it. Do we need to protect our family from walking along the streets of big cities where there can be such posters? We live in pretty modern times where these things are taken for granted and not made a big deal out of. As long as it is not explicit, there should not be any problems.

If in a family situation, the images on the front page absolutely bothers you then then the "hide" link can be clicked which will ensure those images do not show up anymore on the browser, so the family members would not see those if they used the same computer. Even in one of the largest Nepali news site kantipuronline.com they have photos of model in swimsuit in the front page. So this should not really be a big deal.

I don't mean to undermine the concerns of all you well meaning visitors and I really appreciate you taking time to try to help make this a better site. Ramjham is a relatively new site, and I am trying to promote participation in the site. I found out that without having the updated images show up, users generally don't visit the site. Hence it's in the best interest of the site to have the updated images showup, with full control with the user to hide it effectively from their browsers with one single click!

Thanking everyone for their patience and kind consideration in this matter.

San bro,
A sincere request.

Could you please display my recently posted blogs topic on Sajha's front page like any other bloggers?

Bro, I started my blog early at 2:00 AM in the morning. I posted my blog and then went to sleep. I found out that my topic had been removed from Sajha's front page. There had been a mistake from my part. I wanted to type "FC.UK" as a topic but I was totally unaware that I typed "F**K". Later I realized why the topic was removed.

I would appreciate if you could look into my request. I thought I would stop blogging but I kinda found it interesting to continue.

Thanks bro.

Nas,

I think you have gained your two minutes of fame as well. May be its a wise idea to lay low and do what you do. Just a hunch.

VincentBodega bro,

Yea bro, you are absolutely right. I have already thanked all the people who pulled this "Nas's World" stunt for giving me my 15 minutes in Sajha in my other threads.

Bro, I have always been here. I am probably one of the most banned sajha users. San bro knows me very well for my notoriety but people recognized Nas only after this "Nas's World" hype. I was doing what I enjoyed doing, posting beautiful pictures in Ramjham but people seemed to be bothered with what I enjoyed doing. So its really not my problem bro. If anybody feels uncomfortable with my presence in sajha, there is nothing I could do. :)

By the way did you visit my blog VincentBodega bro? Found anything interesting, boring or did not even bothered ?

I wish you choose the latter. That's what I want people to do. Leave me the F***K alone. :)

Thank you for your concern though. I highly appreciated it.
