KATHMANDU, Sept 2 - Claiming that the seven-party government is not paying attention to the ongoing peace process, Maoist Chairman Prachanda has said that his party would launch a mass movement if the government's attitude doesn’t change.
"The seven-party government is showing its unwillingness to take the ongoing peace process to a conclusion," Prachanda said.
Addressing a programme in the capital, the Maoist supremo also said that the party would launch the peaceful Kathmandu-centred mass movement if the upcoming "summit talks" to be held between the government and the Maoists, did not come to a conclusion on "political agendas."
The rebels have been insisting for a consensus on a "political package" containing agreements on issues including the position of the king, interim legislature, an interim government to be included in the interim statute, before arms management.
"The summit talks should be held soon as a way out of the political crisis," Prachanda said.
