Nepal should raise a strong voice at an appropriate level so that Kashmir is no longer ruled by force. People of Kashmir should be allowed to decide of their own fate whether they want to join Pakistan or be independent. This issue and Sikkim is especially important to Nepalese because they are all neighbours of India, just like Nepal. The tiger may strike again, so we have to be careful. Hopefully, the HMG Nepal may raise this issue very soon at an international level.

we should refrain from such act bhoonte.. confronting India isn't a solution ... its in Nepal's benefit to live in harmony with India (either we like it or not) .. current international scenario has made India lot more powerful .. as US wants to make India as powerful as China , US government is doing its best to achieve that , and recent investment commitments from microsofts 1.7billion and intel's 1.0 billion $ maybe part of white house long term plan of making India strong enough to tackle china. so Nepal must act very cautiously while dealing with such delicate matters..

People of Kashmir were given the choice during 1947 and when the Pakistani forces attacked them, they decided that they wanted to be a part of India so that they can derive benefits from the Indian army. I think that that is a decision enough.. I think that Jammu and Kashmir rightfully is a part of India and Pakistanis should have known better than try to conquer it by force. And about Nepal intervening.. would we want to make an enemy outside the nation when we have enough of them inside?

Bhoonte, Maybe we sould raise the issue of Tibet in the international relation, they are also close to Nepal and are very important to Nepal, and side by side we will recognize taiwan as an independent sovereign state. K chha bichar, and Nepal should also cry aloud in International arena about the occupation of Iraq. Bhoonte, whereever u go u do not fail to amuse me.

biswa, You're damn right Bhunte is amusing wherever he goes. But to me, it is not here. Nepal has been an independent country ever since its establishment. And yet how many countries are there in this world, whose such a long and proud history has been ignored because of its presence in international arena and its foreign policies, which is nothing but just begging. Ratiotically, India and many other countries have more people suffering from hunger and poverty than Nepal. Yet, their voice is not ignored not only because of their importance in other aspects but also for their constant struggle for their recognition as someone who can make a difference. So Nepal should start immediately, even if it is from scrach, to be recognized in the world with our voice which could be in our interest in near future. Raising Taiwanese issue is not relevant but about Sikkim and Tibet, it is in definitely in Nepalese interest.

I think bhonte's message carries a deeper meaning here. When you bring controversial issues like Sikkim, sentiments in people of Kashmir and democracy as preached by India, it produces a very funny mixture. Add a little bit of Bhutan in it, then it produces a sheer form of hypocrysy which brings nothing but bad taste. When the Indian leaders are extolling on the virtues of democracy, they very conveniently forget Sikkim, Bhutan and Kashmir. When few hundred Bhutanese asylums in Nepal tried to return to Bhutan last week, India surpassed all shameful acts by stopping them from entering India. India and Democracy. Ha!
