We?re No Monks is a realistic, radical, Tibetan ? English, feature length film written and directed by Pema Dhondup. The film attempts to dispel the image of Tibetans as peaceful monks living in ?Shangri-La.? According to Dhondup, ?The plot revolves around four young, disgruntled Tibetans in Dharamsala, India. When a robbery leads them to be suspected by a tough, local Indian cop, the incident triggers them to do something more dramatic.?
