Friend of mine, typed the line in SUBJECT, when I was eager to know whats goin on in Nepal. Not just that particular one, I have been told by bunch of others. An irony is, some of them who told me, are real techie. This is the recent rumour to hit Nepali Chat market. The Question is, Can MSN (highly secured) or alike be monitored by Gyane and his government? Heck no. Atleast Bill Gates doesnt like the idea. He will rather die cracking over the matter. Haserai marcha..! For your (Daju Bhai/ Didi Bahini in Nepal) concern, if it ever can be monitored - it would be no other than by FBI / CIA / Homeland Security. How ? The dont have to intrude like freak hackers, they have been granted an enough credentials to Monitor the session. That is how. MSN is well secured by serious encryption methodology, which dont let intruder in during the chat session. However one can see others chatting if he/she is genius to termserve (emulation mode) into chat freaks' computer and get desktop snapshot right on his/her monitor . This is not possible unless that genius inject some kind trojan which somehow turn desktop to emulation mode but remain unnoticed by the victim. Is there any trojan available ? To my knowledge NO. Getting or stealing pwd over MSN is different but getting into the group chat session is almost impossible. Thats what I believe. By the way I am not talking about IRC. I am talking about Messenger services like MSN, Yahoo, AOL .. So don't worry you can share any kind of views and ideas over Messenger. Its secured unless you do not sound like Al qaeda

Hmm. I don't think chat conversations are secure (Encrypted) unless they changed it recently. Everything is is via an unencrypted transaction. So your message may be intercepted by Uncle Sam or Gyane if they wanted to. In that sense even Cell phones are not secure. Even though you are not involved in active conversations, your cellphone is always talking to the base station and information is transmitted back and forth. So if uncle sam wanted, they could listen to what you were talking about from the cellphone's mouthpiece without you knowing that.

I am with sojodude. Im I aint wrong a few years ago the US Government ordereda wireless industry to make demand-based trinagulation a reality. They had to provide the ability to locate a cellular phone's position in a matter of seconds. Of course, all of this was under the guise of something known as the E911 Initiative. The people were sold on the idea that maybe someday in your life, no matter how unlikely, you may need emergency assitance and either not know where you are or be unable to tell. Username I agree thats what I am saying FBI/CIA/ NSA those are way and beyond. Who could possibly stop those master mind... But I still do not agree Gyan and Co. are not as developed as ECHELON to capture what we chat over IM. NTC and Mercantile hasnt spent much time sniff the data out of MSN. BTW I take my word back about encryption.. IMs' text are not encrypted but authenication process in IM surely are..

Thats what I mean, Pisces. ज्ञानेको हुती हुँदो हो त प्रबा (प्रचन्ड- बाबुराम ) को रेढियो को मुखमा ताल्चा लगाउदो हो , MSN सुँघ्ने त परै जाओस ।
