Mr. 420,

Let's be realistic. I do want Paras be prosecuted too. But how possible is it? If you could not (or did not want to do that) when the political leaders were in power, you think you will do that now? Be realistic.

Also, if you can't put your argument forward with sensible mind and you are going to be judgmental, please do not even write your feedback. We have enough people like you in this world, who just hate people who do not agree with your view. If you want to argue and disagree respectfully, then let's continue this discussion.

The King will probably end up improving his stock by acting against corruption. The key is the manner and sophistication with which the anti-courrpution drive is carried out. If it turns into a political witch-hunt, not only will he loose credibility over time, but the whole thing could come back to haunt him, if for any reason he finds himself having to share power with any of the parties in the future.

The Kings of Nepal have ruled and betrayed us for over 200 years. They are the ones who have put us in this mess. Once they go, all the corrupt Army leaders and their coiterie will run away, and we the people of Nepal will rule.

Vote against the king

King Gyanendra's historic and inevitable step will open up new avenues for the development of the nation by maintaining law and order, restoring peace, protecting democracy and consolidating real multi-party system as per the will of Nepalese people.............................

Why everybody blaming leaders and not taking their own responsibility. Did you think, how many times you voted and to whom. Why didn't you vote good/qualified leader beside voting for corrupt. Why didn't you took part in politics to develop your country. You will politics is very bad game and you (educated people) don't want to involve in that, thats why those stupid netas came in power all the time and did corruption.
Keep one thing in mind, democracy is the best system and it is good for any country. If panchayat were good system then 2046 never could be happened and thousand of people were not carzy at that time to give his life for nothing. I don't understand why so many people in sajha don't want to understand that. Also i want to make clear that, I am not relative of any neta. If you compare current Nepal with before 2046, you will find it is much more developed in all area, economically, socially, education wise and leadership wise, etc.....................

Well, you said if Panchayat was a good system, 2046 never could have happened. Same thing here. If what we have achieved in 2046 was good systm, Feb 1 2005 would never have happened.

Feb 1, don't you see difference between the situation. How was that revolution in 2046 and this coup. 2046 was done by public like you and me and this coup is done my one man. I think you don't wanna understand that or you are just ignoring it coz you might be very unhappy with politicians. This is true, politicians were bad/corrupted but when you talk about system....think yourself.

Asia,

There is no doubt that democracy is a good system. But whether or not it is a good system for country like ours is totally differnt subject to discuss. I agree with what you said but one thing that needs to be noted is that if this system was working for people, they would have protected it at any cost.

Asia ji, if you read this again you may understand that I intended to say how corrupt all the sections of our societies are. We shouldn't blame political leaders only, we have also bribed them for our benefit, we shouldn't support the King's undemocratic move with a one sided arguement that the leaders were the only culprit. Thats what I wanted to convey.
Anyway you are against the Kings despotic and draconian measures. I welcome you in my band and lets condemn Gyanendra.

I also agree, the system itself is not bad whether it is democratic or other. The people who run the system in their own interest iis bad. We have seen the countries which have progressed in different political isms (socialism, communism, ...). But I have hardly seen the country which has progressed in direct dictetorship of the king (if so please tell me frankly I am not expert in this field). Even of some countries did in past, this cannot be copied in this century, the century of communication.
The problem with our king is, he asked previous govenments (deuba, chanda, thapa) to do the impossible things (to do elections within some time) and and wanted to prove nobody could. But when he took power, he diverted his mission to corruption etc instead of election. Yes corruption control is important, everybody knows, but why did not he start eklection from April that he asked previous government? Want to make everybody fool?
Now logic has ended, magic is ahead.
