Difference Between Bikram Sambat and Ishwi Sambat: The Bikram Sambat is Based on Sideral Year which equals 365 days 6 hours 9 Minutes and 10 seconds. The Western Gregorian Calandar is Based on Tropical Year which equals 365 days 5 Hours 48 Minutes 46 seconds. So the difference is 20 Minutes and 24 seconds. The best way to convert Iswi Sambat to Bikram Sambat is to deduct AYANAMSA value for the particular Year. Ayanamsa for this year is 23 degrees, 53 minutes and 18 seconds. Hope this Helps You......... USername, will give you example later. Now I am out of station.... Hulaki Kaka.

Thanks so much yatree, but I need the src as I want to embed inside an application that i am trying to make. hya hulaki baaje, kasto laharo tanda paharo tharkane kuro gareko, maile bhaneko baisakh....ashoj...chaitra ma time lai naapne BS lai january...june....december ma naapne AD ma convert garna ra vice versa garna kehi formula chha ki bhasmasoor jyotishiko adhyadesh le hunchha ? yetrako degree, minute lyairaheko hola :) anyway, looks like you gotta subtract an AYANAMSA but how do you get the "AYANAMSA". Is there a proper rule or Mangal Raj Joshi just decides it?

DAda Giri I could not read your message. Looks u use strange DADAGIRI Fonts! Til kumari sister: this astro stuff looks tough for beginners! Mysty! U r always Mystical. Username: AYANAMSA is not decided by Mangal Raj Joshi. This is caused by the Wobbling of the axis of the EARth, the so called Precission (ie Ayanamsa) that completes one circle in 25,000 Years. 23 degrees of Ayanamsa for this year equals 24 days. Thats why The Summar solstice falls on Shad 7 instead of Shravan Shakranti.
