Yeah, yeah, I was gonna leave. But I had to make a come back for some discrepancies. Hopefully the owner of the site sees this post and welcomes thoughtful complaints. And my complaint today is regarding the way the chatroom is run.

Since when has it been necessary to ban people who bring up valid points for arguments? I was banned today, by ne0 of course, for having an argument about why people shouldn't take the internet seriously. Thats it, no more or no less. I thought the chatroom was a place for socialization, and surely any social aspects involve thought out arguments. I'd have taken the ban like a man had it been necessary. At no point did I use any inappropriate words or flame anyone. To me it seemed like a healthy argument as I had brought up some valid points. I'm an open minded person, and I'm more than willing to listen to what other people have to say. But to ban people for a trivial matter as such is just unnecessary. I've been banned before, and didn't compalin about it because the bannings *might* have been necessary.

Personally, I go to the chatroom to have fun. If people are there to have serious conversations, thats fine with me. But I wonder how many people act real online. If you're to pick on me for being unrealistic, pick on the rest of the people in the chatroom as well.

Hopefully, you will take this complaint seriously and address the issues. I felt it necessary to bring them to you because the chatroom moderators don't seem to listen to them. Thank you. :)

I don't know much about your chat activities, and I do not go to chat rooms. However, if truth be told, I would say, you should also be banned from Sajha forum as well, so that it brings back the same friendly environment.

Mussolini-- who proclaims himself as a popular figure-- has been the greatest appalling thing I have ever noticed in sajha. Today, where are all regular posters gone? I asked a couple of regular people- whom I know off-line and who stopped posting here, and their answer was simply, "Time has changed; Sajha has changed, new self-proclaimed dictators have been ruling these forums, so we should dwell within low profile."

Now, my question to you is that, would you answer why we should not take Internet seriously? If you think chats and forums are places to hang around and socialize, then why shouldn't we obey the social norms? Why can't you post things that are sociable and pleasant to all Sajhaits, regardless of their interests? Why do you keep harassing others, humiliate others, and discourage for postings? One example:

I absolutely have no problem with your bragging as long as we sense humor in your posting. But I don't find any healthy discussion in your thread; I don't find any valid points that can possibly make you infamous.

I don't know why Sajha admin banned you, but my hunch is that, you "Intentionally" violated the rules. If I were Sajha admin, I would make more disclaimers in the situation like this, and act upon it. We all know that your sheer purpose to post in Sajha is to humiliate others, and create a very inhospitable environment, thus you deserve ban.

Ok as a chatter who goes to the chat-room frequently, she has nothig better to do, it being the summer vacation, here is my opinion:

Is chatroom run with incompetency????? Hmm don't think so, ya like any society, you have to do a lot of butt-kissing if you want to be a moderator. And moderate amount of butt-kissing if you want to have speical priveleges.

So when people have worked that hard to get that position they will expect you to look up to them and when you go against them or make fun of them, their ego can't tolerate it and hence will ban you. (with heavy sacarsm!)

On a serious note, I don't think San dai bans anyone unless the reason is something strong. Yes the chatroom has too much hierarchy but if you ignore that aspect its a very room to chat in.

Everyone is welcome to chat, I am a lower level chatter, so hope the mods and the ones with privilege do not mind me speaking on their behalf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you oh so much for going out of your day to post that heart warming reply if thought an online persona such as myself doesn't "deserve one".

The issue I brought up was about the chatroom, but if you felt it was necessary to bring up my behavior here, then I'll comment on it as well. First of all, let me ask you what I did to hinder this 'friendly environment' you speak of? You make it sound like I turned this board chaotic and worthless. I don't even post in the majority of threads here, frankly because they are useless.

LOL, talk about exaggeration. If you think my stay here, which has been for about a month now, is enough to make all the veteran posters leave this message board, you are so wrong. I didn't know posting ones opinions were considered a sin. I think you're old enough not to be hurt by words. I'm looking at the first page of the message board, and all I see are threads on poetry, wishing someone a happy birthday, and other posts where aren't by any means different than what I post. Again, I ask you. Is my influence so bad that in a month I converted all the posters to make worthless posts?

Not to brag, but you can see the overwhelming responses from posters in this thread who see my concerns. Maybe that gives you a bit of hint that I'm not alone in my thinkings. Not to mention the plethora of emails I've received from people here saying how much they love my humor and that its nice to see some change in Sajha. Again, not branning. Just trying to prove my point here.

Also, I have now been banned from the entire website. I'll have no problems taking the bannings if I were properly explained why I was banned from the chatroom to begin with. Lets not look at my past history, those have been dealt with. I'm wondering about what lead to my banning yesterday. All I ask for is a reasonable explanation, and I'll leave Sajha with no problem. Instead, you chose to shut me out, and I still have to haven't heard from you ne0 (whom I know is the owner of this website now).

Wel, my opinion is chat room is not the place where you decide somthing, chat room is to tell your opinion and to LISTEN (read) to others opnion. but I found that ppl in chat room trying to prove their might which they think is right.

chat room in my opinion is for "halka fulka talk", "halka fulka tease", "halka fulka flirt"
for good time pass, and somtime to get food for thought.

domintaing others is weakness, it is different than the establishing yourself with mature thoughts.

But we all are different, and every type of ppl are in the chat. So if we accept that we are different no argument/behavior/attitude will be able to make us carried away.

Normally I would not justify with a reply since from few past incidents I have understood that not everyone will be happy with my decisions all the time. Because of that sole reason, I had included in the Acceptable Use Policy in the 'about us' page the following:

"anyone having any kind of issues contact the admin directly through email to sort out such issues than posting messages for the admin in Kurakani. This is a voluntary service but we cannot promise that we will be able to read every thread and answer back or try to solve issues by answering online. If any of the solutions are important enough to be posted, or if it gives rise to some valuable insights or policies, it will be posted for the public. There is no reason for sajha official business - meaning policies etc to take the space of general discussions for which this site is here for in the first place."

and the disclaimer states that
"Your use of the Web Site is at your own risk. If you are dissatisfied with any of the Materials or other contents of the Web Site or with these Terms and Conditions, or other policies, your sole remedy is to discontinue use of the Web Site."

In this case however it seems like it would be beneficial for me to post it publicly since some people seem to be interested in it.

Each time in the past that I have had to ban someone, the reason was simply that the individual's goals clashes with that of sajha.

Sajha.com is here to promote harmony and to bring diversified Nepali Communities together. Many minor issues are ignored with the hope that in due time things will take care of itself. It is only when some people continue to indulge in behavior that create disharmony and create an atmosphere of strife that I have to take necessary steps to ensure that other general users are not affected by few individuals who insist on trying to make the sajha site/chat room a playground of their inconsiderate behavior.

The following is from yesterday's chat that let to banning Mussolini AKA Vlad_The_Man - who, when I personally reqeusted - because I had received complaints from few other users - to not indulge in deceptive behavior replied with the following:

(Vlad_The_Man) I'll deceive as many people as I want, as long as their real lives aren't concerned.
(Vlad_The_Man) I get a laugh out of it.

Basically, sajha is here to serve the greater good of the Nepali virtual community and if it cannot serve the whims of few people who cannot appreciate why sajha is here in the first place then I have to take steps to ensure that the sanity of sajha is not threatened by these individuals.

Mussolini then went on to post his concerns in sajha kurakani. At one point in sajha's past, someone had posted things from the chatroom into sajha kurakani and we had made a decision that it was not right to bring things from chatroom into discussions since they are two separate entities. But in any event, I did not delete it hoping that maybe it would open a dialogue regarding chatroom issues.

It was fine until Mussolini decided to play foul by stating an outright lie that moderators of sajha pursue banning when they don't get digits from ladies - which he claimed as a fact. I urge any lady to come forth who was banned cuz she didn't give her digits.

In any event, it's clear by his acknowledgement in chatroom and his past and present postings in the forum that his goals and sajha's goals clash very heavily, as far as bringing together people goes. Hence we have to set the ban in place.

It may not matter but if the two lines quoted from the "perpetrator" led to his being banned from the chat site, I am definitely NOT amused. At any rate, most of the time I have been to Sajha chat room, I have found it to be more of a parking place rather than anything else ( could be i was there at the wrong hours?). Perhaps a little bit of deception could spice up the chat room a bit, I believe.

The two lines quoted may not be enough to get the real picture of what actually happened. But if deception was the case, deception is the name of the game in chat rooms. Its everywhere.

Exactly what kind of deceiving was going on? San, i think your justification spawns more questions than answers them. Was it just gender deception, or was it something more malicious?
