Let's make this thread just about H-1B and TPS related questions.

TPS would be a huge benefit to H-1B holders if yo can revoke your H1 after you get your TPS -EAD and then reinstate it when it is over. And this could be a while, Honduras still has TPS from 1998's hurricane in which they had 11,000 causalities.

Does anyone have info from credible sources.
This is the info DHS has released :
http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2015-06-24/html/2015-15576.htm

"When the Secretary terminates a country's TPS
designation through a separate Federal Register notice,
beneficiaries return to the same immigration status they maintained
before TPS, if any (unless that status has since expired or been
terminated), or to any other lawfully obtained immigration status
they received while registered for TPS. "

This is the thread that I was looking for. I am in H1-B which is valid till Sept, 2017. Things that I would like to know:

1. If you apply for TPS as-is, could you keep working for the same employer if you apply for EAD through TPS? What impact does getting an EAD through TPS will have on H1-B?

2. With H1-B, you are tied to the employer that you are working for. I assume, with EAD through TPS, you could practically work anywhere you want as you now have unrestricted work permit. Even if you leave the company to go find some other job in a different city, your status is protected and you'll have a valid work authorization. Is this correct or am I missing anything?

3. In the scenario that TPS ends for Nepal, how would one regain the H1-B status? H1-B by its very nature is tied to a specific employer. If I am working for a new employer when the TPS ends, could this new employer simply transfer my H1-B like it's done as usual?

4. How does TPS impact the application of GC? If my spouse is getting sponsored for GC by her company, how would my filing for TPS impact it? Would I be eligible to put my name in her application when it's time to send the application for GC?

Any responses will be appreciated. Let's have a thorough discussion to clarify any confusions. I think TPS would be much better as one would not have to worry about one's status for a while. But it's worthwhile to know all the Pros and Cons before initiating an application.

Thanks!

(This was separate post but please include following when u meet USCIS reps)
I am in F1-OPT Extension which is valid for another one year. Now, H1B got picked up and approved which will be applicable from October. F1- visa expired but no worries, can travel after October after changing F1 to H1B.
Question:
1)Is there any benefit of filing TPS in this case?
2) If there is any benifit, Can my employer directly apply for GC when I am in TPS?
3) What will be my status if TPS expired (Assuming TPS will be granted after October,in that case I will have H1B before going to H1B )
4) If I file TPS once H1B starts in October and I want to call my wife, what will happen?
5) H1B starts in October, go Nepal, get H1B stamp with wife and come back with her and apply TPS. What will happen my wife's status as she was not here on 24th June(TPS apply criteria)
