I spent this summer in Nepal. I spent some time in Kathmandu, and other major cities of Nepal. I would have to say that Kathmandu has disappointed me. One thing that struck me about Kathmandu was that the air pollution has become outrageous. You could literally see the black smog in front of you !! I was like is this for real? Unfortunately, the air pollution in Kathmandu has reached a very dangerous level. I could see most people wearing mask. When I asked a local man of Kathmandu if there is a bin where I can throw my empty Maaza, he looked at me with a weird frown on his face ! Kathmandu has become extremely chaotic. My friend helped me to cross the road. My taxi ride from TIA back and forth was a bumpy ride. I am more concerned, at this point, is the pollution level of Kathmandu. Commuting in Kathmandu is like going to a war in a thick smog. What is the future of Kathmandu, I wonder! Here is the link of the latest research from Yale University on Air Pollution of Kathmandu. http://www.theguardian.com/cities/2014/mar/21/air-pollution-kathmandu-nepal-liveable-smog-paris

Ujl, after how long of a gap did you visit Nepal? You are blowing your whistles on pollution and chaotic Kathmandu as if it happened only yesterday. Anyway keep posting about your visit and your experience, I always enjoy peeking through your binocular to view your meaning of life.

ujl timi lai enjoy garna na ayeko hola. i enjoy the pollution and throwing stuff in the open road.. when i go back i take a dump near bagmati ko teer just to get satisfy my uncivil urges. i also pee on the telephone ko lattha, and i spit wherever i want, especially when i do the haaak thu i enjoy the deep lung moving sound and relieve myself of the dark green mucus. I throw trash on the side of any road i choose and not get yelled or fined. sometimes i throw it near bagmati to pollute it just so i can. whenever i am in chiya pasal i throw away half cup unwanted tea outside just cause i can and nobody cares. when i dont take shower for days and i like to ride the microbus just so i can win the odor competition with the guy sitting next to me. i also ride the mini bus and deliberately hold on to the dandi on the ceiling of the bus so that my armpit smell suffocates the guy standing next to me. also i don't brush my teeth in these circumstances so that if the conductor khados people like gundruk and the next guy's face is hair line away he can give me some space. I enjoy throwing empty bottle, cans and spitting occasionally when riding the vehicle. i like to cross the road anywhere i want, zebra crossing is meant for zebras, we are humans. ...more to come
