I just found out that company i work doesnot participate in everify. I have been working as a project engineer for past seven months. The only option seems to me is to join some It consultancy. Please suggest what would be a better IT field for a civil engineer with minor in computer science. Thank you all for your help.

The way you wrote the question, doesn't seem like you have been working as a project engineer. Go for Gas Station Clerk.

Going with what you know is much better then starting a new career. If you have been working as a project engineer then stick to this field. THere are lots of opportunities and ofcourse they do H1 too. So why go for IT or non related field.
