Guys,
What is your feedback about our Embassy located in DC?
Nepalese sure pay lotta tax to sustain this embassy here.
Share your experience on passport renewals, visa application etc.

after paying 150 for passport renewal, one needs to also send return envelope with tracking number. how cheap can they be or the nepali government? cant they not spend $5 to send the new passport back after charging $150 for passport? why not charge $155 and return the new passports rathern than make people send return envelope with postage??

feri kahi nabhako jatra haadi gau ma.......application A4 size paper ma chhainey........letter size bhaye bhai halyo ni. aakhir application kunai government office ko kotha ma banda garera ralhney ho kyare....

@ biwash prawashi:  You're just those typical Nepali who likes to blame everything to Nepalese Govt. but you, yourself don't like to scarifice anything for Nepal.

Remember, Embassy is in Washington D.C. And all expenses are in dollars. So, Nepalese Embassy has to operate within the limit budget  approved by Foreign Ministry of  Nepal.

First, are you aware of how many staffs work over there?. How big is the rooms where all these staffs work? You can't even imagine.

To increase the high productivity of work with less work-force,  they have to find the best efficency way to do their jobs. Thats managment 101.

Even if they increase the cost of yours renewal by slight margin, it won't do any good. Problem is not revenue, its the work-force.

So, the best way to operate passport dept. smoothly is to send return envelope.

PAPER SIZE A4. Really!?.that means you have never work in office. Yes, in US, we use letter size.

Tell me why we cant use same TV in Nepal, same voltage.. lol, You might be asking..why nepal don't use NTSC..why PAL system..bla bla...why ...

Thats call Standards...Asian country use certain Standards..Japan,China, A4 papers..

Murkha Nepali haru  Amerika Ayo...so sad..

yes i am a typical nepali but looks like you are an elite @sshole!

i dont care how many people they have or how many rooms they operate from and what their budget is. this is not my concern. if they are not satisfied, they need to complain to the government. i am just a customer that wants to get my passport renewed at the least price with least inconveniences!

do you look at the tags of your clothes when you buy and refrain from buying clothes made in china or india? you know how those garment workers are treated! as a customer you dont coz that the job of the government to monitor. you just want your clothes.

pakhe khatey.....US government sends green card, passport, ss card without asking for return envelope during application process. so why cant our government/embassy include the cost of shipping in the application fee and minimize inconvenience??

@@ Sexy in sari @@
Embassies don't pay taxes or other things as a business for that matter. Eg property taxes ...

And as for your management 101 ....
The embassy is for the good of the people and their performance should not be based on revenue. They are for service for people.
Their budget is not approved by foreign ministry but set out on fiscal policy . The employees are paid as employees of Nepal government and yes they get some allowance coz they are in foreign land.
Just they are in America doesn't mean the ambassador need/is paid a competitive salary as United States Secretary of State.
And the fees they charge is the same fee that is charged in Nepal and other nepali embassies around the world .... If they have a budget defection the goverment can increase that in the next budget bhasan..

So that was Sexy in Sari PAKHANI 101

And about NTSC and pal , in Nepal electricity uses 50htz frequency which is same frequency for pal systems .. It's interrelated .. Not because of the standards. If the electrical system was set up differently then Nepal could have used NTSC.

I wanted to compliment your views with a BEITCH PlEASE meme but o well....

Ps just because you can write in English doesn't mean you can give out valid information...

I heard the machine that scans and extracts information from completed passport forms can only take A4 papers.

I think, Nepal Embassy in USA works just like another government office in USA (like DMV or USCIS) . Recently I submited my application for passport renewal. I did not got any confirmation of recipt from embassy other USPS delivery notice. I called several times to reach voicemail, but nobody returns call. But I when I wrote email, they replied immediately. You just need to know what method works right for you.

I have never been to our embassy in DC, but if there is shortage of manpower, we can volunteer to make the work of embassy easier and help other Nepali nationals/ foreigners as well. For example, I could take pictures for passport, collect passports/doucuments and send to embassy, keep stock of A4 size paper and give to others who need in my city..........if the embassy allows..I am pretty sure many other would be willing to do so. Just my thoughts.
